The original refrigerator in the condo unit we purchased a few years ago needed replacing, and after some research (incl. Consumer Reports, etc.), we were quite clear about the features we did and didn't want. At our nearby Home Depot, Tom and Brian were both very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly and we were pleased with our selection. The store is always clean, and on this occasion, there was virtually no wait to receive help. We would be inclined to shop for such major appliances there again.

Good stock can count on finding what is needed. Special orders are welcomed and arrive quickly. Those working in the store know their product. See the same people over the years.

Be careful if you order carpet. They charged us a $35 measurement fee that they would refund upon purchase. Well, guess what, we purchased the carpet and were still charged the fee. What really makes this upsetting is that the order was placed over the phone and we were told we would be charged the amount that had the $35 fee removed, and then Home Depot charged the higher amount that included the $35 fee. I had to spend nearly a half hour on the phone to get that corrected. I see this is not only totally unacceptable it hinges on deceit.

Rude staff, uninterested, not wanting to help, talked over you.

Store has the worst customer service of any home improvement store in the area. Stay away! Go to Aurora or South Elgin. No one cares, they won’t lift a finger to help you.

I tried to order online for curbside pickup but was told (after a few hours from purchase) that the product wasn't in stock and that Id have to come into the store for reimbursement because I used a gift card for part of the purchase. After doing so, I found the product in store (by the way, weighed 95lbs and was a 16" square box about 5' long) and purchased it (with a 10% discount due to the mess-up) At the end of the day, I ended up with what I needed but cost me more in time, unnecessary frustration, and irritation. To be told I had to come into the store because they couldn't find what I wanted which certainly wasn't some small plumbing part but was a large yard tool, just to get my online money back, and then to find said tool without much effort? Im really disappointed, and can I repeat myself? I just don't understand the problem from the beginning. At the end of the day, most of the time this store is a good place, but man do they have some weak links.

All cashiers should be available to customers

Had to buy a washer and fridge as a power outage blew both of them. Was able to purchase and get them installed within 5 days.

Nice layout, wide isles and I felt safe there.
