How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?
The Home Depot gift cards are a popular choice during the Holiday season, with givers and doers that can be purchased in-store at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you are a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Our gift cards can be redeemed in-store or used to make purchases online with no additional fees.

What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?
As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

No assistance
We looked for an associate for questions on electrical items and we didn't find anyone around. It took awhile but we ended up finding the items ourselves.

the "do-it-yourself" theme sometimes makes it hard to find things or get proper assistance when you're in such a big store and after having a very annoying problem in the early morning hours that was not so much a fault of the only and "new" individual on shift but more the circumstance of poor scheduling...I was able to return in the afternoon and received excellent service from an employee (cashier?) named "Pua" who resolved the problem to my complete satisfaction...she is one of those employees you hope to find when you need help...and hopefully one that particular store will keep in its employment!...I'll be back!

Non islander sales associates are not friendly to Black, Brown, or people of color and don't hide it. Local island Hawaiian employees are also a pono. Non islanders, I ask for help and they look at me and walk away. Only 1 associate today (local) out of 3 acknowledged my presence and offered help with a greeting, took the time to show me where the products were, answered questions, and even offered to get me a cart. The Garden center employee, ignored my presence 100% even while I was talking to her. She immediately walked away after helping another customer for 5 minutes. After I said hello and excuse me 3 times, she again ignored me and kept walking. Oh she saw me..dead in my face. So she pointed to two areas where the products MIGHT be and walked away. I will go to HPM to get my lumber for my upcoming build, which is why I was there today. To place a huge order for lumber, containers, & tools. It's never a pleasant trip to Home Depot in Hilo.
