Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store reduced energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

What types of Halloween decoration are most popular?
Halloween is a big deal in many American households, and skeleton decor is at the top of the list. Our viral sensation Skelly, the giant 12-foot skeleton, is ready for your porch or yard. Also, we have several other options that use many bones and skulls. Stay dead-set on spooky fun with our current Halloween skeleton decor. Create a graveyard with tombstones, fake spiderwebs, a fog machine, and plenty of graveyard bones and inhabitants.
