How do I stop cold air from coming in at the bottom of the door?
If you have cold air seeping in under the door, fix it to prevent higher heating bills and keep your house cozy. When a house settles unevenly, pieces that once fit snugly can go off-kilter. Gaps can form around the sides of doors or the thresholds may loosen with time. Fill the space with weather stripping or foam tape, and caulk any cracks in the wooden door frame. If you're still feeling drafts around the door, place an insulated fabric door snake along the ground.

What can I work on when it's cold outside?
When the temps drop outside, it's challenging to work outdoors. However, it may be the perfect time to clean up your home and indoor workspaces instead. A weekend cleaning and organizing the basement or garage will pay off when the weather warms. You won't have to replace lost hand tools because you can find what you've got. Polish up the tools, clean the rest of the house with cleaning supplies, and you'll be ready when spring has sprung.

How do I prepare for freezing temperatures and snow?
When you live in a region where snow falls, it's a good idea to upgrade or organize your snow removal equipment before a storm hits. Have a gas can ready to top off your gas snowblower if it's not already filled for the season, or check the battery on your electric one. Don't forget to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep salt or ice melt and a salt spreader. Make sure your outdoor faucets are covered and drained, too, with all garden hoses disconnected. Doing this basic prep will help keep you ready for whatever winter weather brings.

Are Kids Workshops offered at the Modesto Home Depot?
Yes, the Modesto store offers in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am-noon. You may reserve your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. Keep little doers engaged with a new kit pack for each event. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to check availability of the kits.

How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular present for the holidays, housewarming parties, and birthdays. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. Buy gift cards online at homedepot.com or in our brick-and-mortar stores. If you're a recipient, you can visit the Modesto Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Use our gift cards to shop online or redeem them in-store. There are no additional fees to worry about.

Shopping easy, checkout very difficult
3 of 4 self checkouts not working, no tap credit card machines for a company making record profits. Upgrading monitors instead.

Need more helping staff on the floor
I was looking for an item on the floor and the staff on the floor told me Just go on line and order it from there. Not too helpful. When they do not know the answer. I finally find the item after looking around for 15 minutes

The pro sales cashier cussed me out
The pro sales cashier Guadalupe yelled at me and cussed me out calling me a little b word and Heather tried to get me to leave when Guadalupe was yelling at me. They both refused to tell names and both refused to get me a manager. When the managers came, they apologized and gave me both of their names

This isn’t the place for tool rentals!
My experience was that either the employees in tool rental are unable to work that department, or they are rude and unhelpful. Management is nearly impossible to contact. The store manager is kept insulated from contact by sheltering in the phone loop. The extension goes nowhere and often the phone will ring for over 30min without anyone picking up. We all know the story at Home Depot…. We have come to expect certain inefficiencies and occasional rudeness. The tool rental area is a few notches below bad at this location.
