When it's time to make the leap into a big DIY project, you might not have everything you need to get the job done. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Washington Tool and Truck Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Start your next home improvement project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Washington Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. You can rent what you need and bring them back when the job is done. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, we have used tools available for purchase. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to keep up with your lawn. Fall will be here in no time, so have a leaf blower at the ready. It's much easier than raking them into piles. It's also easy to use on hardscaping surfaces, driveways, and concrete sidewalks. You can rent one of our backpack, walk-behind, or handheld leaf blowers.
Chainsaws
Preserve the beauty and safety of the woody shrubs and trees in your yard with a rental chainsaw. As this likely isn't a tool you'll need daily, it makes sense to rent it when it's time for some yard cleanup. It's much easier to spot any troublesome branches and do basic trimming once the leaves are off the trees. We carry gas and electric chainsaws, so you're sure to find one that fits the job.
Heaters
There's nothing better than a comfortable room, so be sure to check out our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep barns, outdoor events, or workspaces warm. They're safer than torch patio heaters because they have no open flame, and they also blow the hot air for more coverage. We carry gas, propane, and electric heaters in varying sizes. Couple this with good outdoor lighting, and you can extend work or play later into the evening hours.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep cargo vans and trucks of all kinds ready for rental, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY projects, storage needs, and packing, it's easy to make us your trusted source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck Rentals
When you need a 12-foot box truck for a small move, we have just what you need. Our rental box trucks are a great solution for cross-town moves. Use it for transporting extra belongings to a storage space as well. Pick up your truck, pack it full, then bring it back to that same store when you're all done.
Penske Moving Trucks
You're confident doing your DIY projects with us. Do the same when it's time to relocate to a new space. We offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings, from everything in a dorm or small apartment to the contents of a 5-bedroom house.
How do I rent a tool or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent tools by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you might get lucky and have a sharpened blade on the saw. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so review those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
