Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?

This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store helped save on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours last year. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn More.

What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?
The adjusted hours give stores the ability to staff appropriately and provide additional time to restock shelves and perform cleaning. As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

Is The Home Depot Ne Mesa hiring?
As an essential retailer, we're hiring seasonal associates in Customer Service/Sales, Store Support, Freight, and Merchandising. We’re taking measures to keep our associates and customers safe, including providing face coverings and gloves, limiting the number of customers in stores at one time, promoting social and physical distancing practices, and implementing additional cleaning measures to sanitize facilities. Apply now. The Home Depot® is an Equal Opportunity/M/F/Vet/Disabled Employer.

Employees are great and helpful, however, the check out process seems to be all self serve, and most lanes are card only. I wanted to pay cash but was directed to a register that took only card. I asked if I can pay cash and was told no. The register that accepts cash apparently was not available and there appeared to only be one. I bought a $3 item and did not want to use my card for this as I had cash. Cash is legal tender in America. There should not be any reason why I can not pay for a $3 item(plus tax) with 4 one dollar bills. Otherwise, I enjoy the store and people are kind. I will still shop here but I hope they improve the check out process.

Customer Service employees need re-training. Arrived to zero customers at customer service and 4 employees all clustered together talking. They ignored me for over 2 minutes and the employee that finally helped me was rude. I remodel for a living and for tax reasons need separate receipts for each properties purchases and returns. There was lots of eye rolling and rude looks from the employee that handled my transactions.

I attempted to get blinds, cut to the appropriate size, and was unable to get them because only one person in the entire store knows how to use the machine, managers included, and that person was on break and not coming back until after the store closed. The manager just shrugged her shoulders, and said “come back tomorrow.” I was surprised to hear from the front line employees, who sympathized, that this store was not run line other stores, and they had no excuse. It’s like going to McDonalds and being told you can’t get a hamburger because only one person knows how to use the flipper. And totally unacceptable outcome.

My husband and I had a very good experience this evening. Vicki and Nick went above and beyond to fix a pricing issue on flooring with HomeDepot.com. We were refunded our overpayment and were able to purchase to remainder of the pallet in store. Thank you to Vicki and Nick for your superb service.
