When you're ready to kick off your next DIY project with confidence, you want the correct tools for the job. In many cases, The Home Depot Tool and Truck Rental Center can help you fill in the gaps in your toolbox and your garage. We're known for high-quality power tool and moving truck rentals.
Tool Rental
Start your next home improvement project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Niles Tool Rental Center expand your toolbox with the tools you don't have at home. You can rent what you need and bring them back when you're done. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to maintain your yard. Fall will be in full swing soon, so have a leaf blower ready to go. It's far less work than raking. It's also easier on concrete sidewalks, hardscaping surfaces, and driveways. You can rent one of our handheld, backpack, or walk-behind leaf blowers.
Insulation
If you need to prep your home for cooler weather, consider upgrading your insulation. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it the right way. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated. Installing insulation helps keep your home nice and cool in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter, all while tempering your energy bills.
Heaters
A comfortable room makes everything easier, so browse our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep barns, workspaces, or outdoor events warm. They're safer than torch patio heaters because they have no open flame, and they also blow the hot air for more coverage. We carry electric, gas, and propane heaters in different sizes. Couple this with some nice outdoor lighting, and you can extend work or play later into the evening hours.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks and cargo vans on hand. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickups to flatbed trucks to cargo vans. Choose the right size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline on track. As your source for storage, packing, and DIY, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
To get tools and transportation for your home improvement or DIY project, check out the Tool and Truck Rental Center in Niles. Renting the appropriate tools for the job makes a difference. We're your one-stop shop to get from doing to done.
How do I rent a tool or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to review the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you might get lucky and receive an excellent one. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
