The Home Depot Rental Center at Lincoln & Mccormick

When it's time to make the leap into a big home improvement project, you might not have everything you need in the shed or garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by the Chicago Rental Center for trailers, trucks, tools, and large equipment.

Tool Rental
Start your DIY project with the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Lincoln & Mccormick expand your tool belt with the items you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and return them when the job is finished. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, you can buy our used tools. The retired rental tools are discounted in comparison to the new items in our aisles.

Make Painting Easier with Paint Sprayer and Ladder Rentals
Beautiful summer days are the perfect time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Make surfaces look new again with a fresh paint color. Whether you need rental ladders for painting fences, rental scaffolding for painting a house or shed, or a rental paint sprayer for professional coverage, we've got what you're looking for.

Add Insulation When the Attic Is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, refresh your insulation shortly after sunrise, before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Be sure to take cooling breaks if you must install insulation in the summertime. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies with ease. Help keep your heating and cooling bills under control with new insulation that maintains the temperature inside your home.

Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks of all kinds and cargo vans on hand. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from flatbeds to pickup trucks to cargo vans. Choose the right size for your project so you can keep your timeline on track. As your source for DIY projects, storage needs, and packing, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.

Box Trucks and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, let us help with that. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet, but as always, availability varies from one store to the next. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from everything in a college dorm to the contents of a 4-bedroom house. Box trucks have different rental requirements and sizes than Penske moving trucks, so check our FAQs or consult an associate to ensure you choose the right rental truck for you.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. Check out our trailer rentals, too, for transport and post-project cleanup. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we have in stock.

Although we're calling out popular tool, trailer, truck, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a trailer, piece of large equipment, tool, or truck?

Stop by your local rental center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, large equipment, a trailer, or a truck. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental, truck rental, or trailer rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, check out these Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment and CLEAR verification.

How long can I rent tools, trailers, and large equipment?

You can rent a piece of large equipment, a trailer, or a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and bigger jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent these items by the week, month, or day, too. If you need your rental equipment longer than your initial rental period, call the rental center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I need to return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Do saw rentals come with saw blades?

Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you might get lucky and have a sharpened blade on a tile saw, for instance. As there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or deposit, too. We do not accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. All large equipment and select tools require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prepare your rental delivery for you, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to one of our Orange Aprons for the best way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?

Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
