Recycling at Home Depot

Did you know?
This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.
LED lights in your local store helped save on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours last year. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.

Can I fix drafty windows?
If your drafty windows need replacing but you need to make it through the winter first, seal them up tight for best results. Caulk the gaps well, then seal the window using a window insulation kit with plastic film and a hair dryer. Add fabric threshold snakes along the bottom for extra warmth. Finally, trap and warm the air around the windows with blackout curtains or heavy drapes. Replace the windows as soon as possible.
What are good wintertime DIY projects?
In colder climates, it's challenging to work outdoors. However, a chilly day might be a good time to rake leaves or give the mulch in the garden a stir. Some time organizing and cleaning the shed, garage, or basement will pay off when spring comes. If your tools and gardening supplies are all set, tackle cleaning the rest of the house. Get out the cleaning supplies and cleaning tools, then give everything a good scrub.
How do I prepare for snow and freezing temperatures?
When you live in a location where snow may occur, it's smart to organize or upgrade your snow removal equipment before a winter storm hits. Have a gas can ready to top off your gas snowblower if it's not already filled for the season, or check the battery on your electric one. Remember to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep salt or ice melt and a salt spreader. Ensure your outdoor faucets are drained and covered, too, with all garden hoses disconnected. Basic preparations like these keep you ready for whatever winter weather hits your area.
Does my local Home Depot still offer Kids Workshops?
Kids Workshops are free in-store events that take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am–noon. You may secure your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. Keep little doers engaged with a new kit pack for each event. Included in the kits are all necessary craft materials, as well as instructions, stickers, an apron pin, a certificate of achievement, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Paint and all other required tools are provided at the event. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to check the availability of the kits.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are an excellent present for birthdays, housewarming parties, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. You can buy gift cards at our stores or online at homedepot.com. If you're a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Our gift cards can be redeemed in-store or used to make purchases online with no additional fees.

Customer service
I needed five items and I was lucky to find an Associate named Raishine. I wish all stores had an employee like him. Even though his shift was over he went above and beyond to make sure I found everything I needed. I would recommend this store to anyone because of my experience with that young man.

    Another bad experience
Indifferent checkout staff quote: "I don't care. It's not my money." No bags at ANY self checkout station. Barcode scan failed on product and locks checkout station until an employee comes by to unlock. Limited stock. Tapcons were a mess. Had to purchase stainless steel screws instead of zinc coated. Quite honestly, if I have to check myself out, have no bags, and deal with attitude, the customers should be getting a discount! If I had time to return everything and shop somewhere else, I would have done so. Will be shopping a competitor in the future.
      Great Store
I was looking for Milwaukee drill/driver combo set. They had it. Job got done on schedule. And that's all I have to say about that.

        Disgraceful service
Do pick another store where employees are concerned about how they treat people
Terrific service and knowledge on appliances in this store.
We visited the store twice while deciding on our purchase of 3 appliances. We were pleasantly surprised at how helpful and knowledgeable the associate was. His name is Bernard and we were very fortunate to have him help us with our decisions. He was really so good!!!

            Easy, Peasy, Lemon Squeezy
I always learn something when I visit this store. As usual, I wasted time trying to buy online, when I should have just come in to the store and talked to someone. Today, was Dora and Bernard. I don't even want tell you how long we have been trying to buy a new fridge. They had us wrapped up in about 20min. Thanks
