The Home Depot Rental Center at Riverview

Tool and Equipment Rental
Start your next DIY project with confidence and the right tools. Let The Home Depot Riverview Tool Rental Center expand your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. Rent what you need and bring it back when the job is done. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, update your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies with ease. You'll enjoy steadier utility bills and a more consistent home temperature with new insulation.

Tame the Bushes and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and bushes with string trimmers and rental lawn mowers, and get that driveway and sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Truck Rental
If it's time to get started on your move but you need to rent a truck to do it, come to The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From cargo vans and flatbed trucks to Penske moving trucks and box trucks, we've got the transportation you need. We'll have the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it changes.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning specific truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent trucks, tools, or large equipment?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You could also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your local store. For more on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent a tool or large equipment for a week?

You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before selecting a vehicle.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?

Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
