When it's time to make the leap into a new home improvement project, you might not have everything you need in the garage or shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Fort Worth Rental Center for tools, trucks, and large equipment.
Tool Rental
Start your next DIY project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Fort Worth Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and bring them back when you're done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to keep up with your yard. Fall will be here in no time, so have a leaf blower ready to go. It's far less work than raking. It's also easier on driveways, hardscaping surfaces, and concrete sidewalks. You can rent one of our handheld, backpack, or walk-behind leaf blowers.
Generators
Whether you're running a large welding machine or working in a remote location, you'll probably want to rent a generator. Generators also keep basic electrical appliances running during a power outage. Make life easier during fieldwork or after extreme weather knocks out your power.
Heaters
If you can't stand working or being outside in cooler temps, browse our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They're safer than torch patio heaters because they don't have an open flame, and they also blow the hot air for more coverage. We offer gas, electric, and propane heaters in various sizes. Couple this with nice outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening hours.
Truck Rental
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks ready for rental, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.
Box Truck Rentals
If you need a 12-foot box truck for a small move, we have just what you need. Our rental box trucks are a fantastic solution for cross-town moves. Use it for transporting extra belongings to a storage space as well. Get your truck, pack it full, then bring it back to that same store when you're done.
Penske Moving Trucks
You're comfortable doing your DIY projects with The Home Depot. Do the same when it's time to move to a new space. We have Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings, from everything in a college dorm or small apartment to the contents of a 5-bedroom house.
How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, large equipment, or tool. You can also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, check out these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to review the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you purchase your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you might get lucky and receive an excellent blade on the saw. As there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We do not accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment and select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I receive my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prep your rental delivery for you, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't an option, speak to one of our Orange Aprons for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
