When you're ready to kick off your next DIY project with confidence, you want the correct tools for the job. In many cases, The Home Depot Tool and Truck Rental Center can help you fill in the gaps in your toolbox and your garage. We're known for quality power tool and moving truck rentals.
Tool Rental
Start your next DIY project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot South Hill Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have at home. You can rent the tools you need and bring them back when you're done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to maintain your yard. Fall will be here in no time, so have a leaf blower at the ready. It's much easier than raking them into piles. It's also easy to use on driveways, hardscaping surfaces, and concrete sidewalks. Choose from handheld, backpack, or walk-behind leaf blowers.
Insulation
To make your home more energy efficient, upgrade your insulation. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated with ease. Installing insulation keeps your home nice and cool in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.
Heaters
If you can't stand working or being outside in cooler temps, check out our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They are safer than torch patio heaters because they don't have an open flame, and they also blow the hot air for greater coverage. We offer gas, electric, and propane heaters in various sizes. Pair this with good outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening with the extra warmth.
Truck Rental
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks on hand, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for storage needs, packing, and DIY projects, it's easy to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.

How do I rent tools and trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you may luck out and have a sharpened blade on the saw. As there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so review those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
