Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting plastic plant pots, CFLs, lead acid batteries, and rechargeable batteries for recycling.
Our stores sent approximately 5.3M pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63.5K trees. It kept over 16K trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saved over 50M gallons of water, and conserved 7.8M kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store cut down energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.

Do you offer big outdoor Halloween decorations?
Yes, we offer several large outdoor Halloween decorations, many of which are animatronics. Make your front yard the spookiest on the block with giant Halloween decor options, including skeletons, reapers, and witches. Dean the Deathologist and Skelly are two current favorites. Halloween inflatables are low-commitment decorations that make a high impact. Blow them up when you're ready to show your nighttime Halloween spirit and deflate them during the day.
Should I get a portable generator or an inverter generator?
We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making less noise when they create less power. When searching generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows.
What home repairs should I make before it gets cold?
Ready your home for winter weather by replacing any faulty or broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be headed for trouble. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Gutters should be cleaned to prevent ice dams. Check brickwork and cinder blocks for cracks, and ensure indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, swap out vinyl siding and chimney caps if they're in poor condition.
What are some storage options for a crowded holiday home?
As you prepare for the holidays, give yourself extra space in the house and stow away the rest. Protect fragile items with moving blankets. Garage cabinets keep decorations, tools, and more out of the way. Take summer belongings out of the equation with shoe storage and other storage bins. If you need even more room, a new shed can give you plenty.
How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Gift cards to The Home Depot are an excellent present for housewarming parties, birthdays, and the holidays. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. You can buy gift cards at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can check your gift card balance online or visit the Spanish Springs Home Depot and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Our gift cards can be redeemed in-store or used to make purchases online with no additional fees.
