How can I fix drafty windows?

As the years pass, windows settle and may not fit as snugly as they did before. Check if they're drafty by bringing an incense stick to the window. If you can see the smoke swirl around the window, the cold air is getting in. Fill obvious spaces around windows with caulk. If your windows aren't snug in the frames anymore, use foam tape, weather stripping, or even a window insulation kit with sealing film to keep out cold air. Replace the windows as soon as possible.

What are good wintertime DIY projects?

When the temperatures drop outside, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, a chilly day might be a good time to rake leaves or give the mulch in the garden a stir. A weekend cleaning and organizing the shed or garage will pay off when spring comes. If your tools and gardening supplies are all set, tackle cleaning the rest of the house. Get out the cleaning supplies and cleaning tools, then give everything a good scrub.

How can chainsaws help with yard and tree cleanup?

If you've got spare wood and extra wooden pallets sitting unused in a corner, cut them into pieces with a chainsaw in the springtime so you can store them or get rid of the wood. Spring is a good time to organize the firewood pile and trim broken tree branches too. Before firing up your Ryobi chainsaw, ensure that the chain isn't rusted or dull and that it's been oiled. Then, while wearing the proper safety equipment, use your electric or gas chainsaw to cut the wood. Make evenly sized pieces for effective storage.

Are Kids Workshops offered at the Sunset Hills Home Depot?

Yes, the Sunset Hills store does offer in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. Registration for workshops is now available online. Each month features a unique and exciting new kit pack to keep little doers engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to order your kit.

Excellent Customer Service

My online pick order merchandise was incorrect. They immediately apologized, returned and reordered my items on the spot. The new charge was increased $5, I questioned the price and stated "I was ok with it, just wondering, its not a problem" (could be tax or merchandise increase). Next a superviser typed a few things into the register said have a nice day, and the attendant stated a discounted price below the original invoice. Nice savings for my client. I was in disbelief, THAT NEVER HAPPENS anywhere else.
