The Home Depot Rental Center at Tehachapi

When you're ready to kick off your next DIY project with confidence, you want the correct tools for the job. In many cases, The Home Depot Tool and Truck Rental Center can help you fill in the gaps in your toolbox and garage. We're known for high-quality power tool and moving truck rentals.

Tool Rental
Start your DIY project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Tehachapi expand your tool belt with the items you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and return them when the job is done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted in comparison to the new items in our aisles.

Rent Floor Sanders, Shop Vacs, Post Hole Diggers, and More
Tackle major projects with serious power tools. Revive your scuffed wood flooring with a floor sander rental and a shop vac rental to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your property faster and more efficiently with an auger rental, then utilize other concrete tool rentals that suit the job at hand.

Add Insulation When the Weather Is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, refresh your insulation in the spring, if possible, before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Decide between a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated properly. You'll enjoy steadier utility bills and a more consistent home temperature with new insulation.

Truck Rental
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep pickup trucks as well as Penske moving trucks on hand, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for moving and transport, too.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent tools and trucks?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions. All truck rentals and larger tools require CLEAR verification.

Can I rent a tool by the hour?

You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Do saw rentals come with saw blades?

Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you might get lucky and receive an excellent one. As there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Be ready for CLEAR verification and the requisite selfie. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
