Why is there cold air coming in around the door?

If you have cold air seeping in under the door, check your door sweep, the rubber piece on the door bottom, for cracks and missing pieces. Replace it if it's torn or otherwise damaged. When a house settles unevenly, pieces that once fit snugly can go off-kilter. Gaps can form around the sides of doors or the thresholds may loosen with time. Fill the space with weather stripping or foam tape, and caulk any cracks in the wooden door frame. If you're still feeling drafts around the door, place an insulated fabric door snake along the ground.

What projects can I work on when it's cold outside?

In colder climates, it's challenging to work outdoors. However, a chilly day might be a good time to rake leaves or give the mulch in the garden a stir. Some time organizing the shed, garage, or basement will pay off when spring comes. If your tools and gardening supplies are all set, tackle cleaning the rest of the house. Get out the cleaning supplies and cleaning tools, then give everything a good scrub.

How can chainsaws help with winter and spring yard cleanup?

Use chainsaws to remove dead or broken branches from trees. Trimming damaged wood keeps your trees healthier. Oil up your Homelite chainsaw before using it, and swap out any rusted or dull chains. Please leave large tree removal to the pros unless you're a trained arborist. Fallen trees can be cut into smaller pieces and hauled away.

Are Kids Workshops offered at the Tilton Home Depot?

Yes, the Tilton store offers in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am–noon. Registration for kids workshops is now available online and secures your spot at the event. We have a new kit pack every month to keep your little doer engaged. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to order your kit.

How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?

Great Generator Acquisition

Excellent customer service

We were at the home depot during a rain storm so of course it was busy. The customer service person manning the self checkout called for back up, greeted us and told us the register was going to be opening up as we were next in line. Our cashier Oscar, who had held off on going to lunch, greeted us and was just great. I generally get great service every trip we take to this store.

Mark S (for savings) was outstanding

We came to Home Depot early in the morning to start our day and purchase a number of items for a painting project. Mark S greeted us at the checkout line and instead of watching us check out items out he actually quickly checked out all of our items for us while simultaneously ensuring that every other customer coming through was greeted and asked if they needed any help. While doing all of that he asked if we wanted to apply for a credit card in the savings that we might receive. He then assisted us with entering in the information so that we can quickly move through the process. He was knowledgeable funny thoughtful and truly made our experience outstanding!
