How do I lessen window draftiness?

As the years pass, windows settle and may not fit as snugly as they did before. Check if they're drafty by bringing an incense stick to the window. If you can see the smoke swirl around the window, that shows you where cold air is getting in. Fill obvious spaces around windows with caulk. If your windows aren't snug in the frames anymore, use foam tape, weather stripping, or even a window insulation kit with sealing film to keep out cold air. Replace the windows as soon as possible.

How do I prepare for freezing temperatures and snow?

When you live in a location where snow falls, it's a good idea to organize or upgrade your snow removal tool kit before a storm hits. Have a gas can ready to top off your gas snowblower if it's not already filled for the season, or check the battery on your electric snowblower. Remember to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep salt or ice melt and a salt spreader. Make sure your outdoor taps are drained and covered, too, with all hoses disconnected. Basic preparations like these keep you ready for whatever winter weather comes your way.

Are Kids Workshops offered at the Valdosta Home Depot?

Kids Workshops are free in-store events that take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am and noon. You may secure your Kids Workshop kit by registering online for the event. Keep little doers engaged with a new kit pack for each event. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Call us or visit our customer service counter to order your kit.

How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?

Home Depot gift cards are an excellent present for the holidays, housewarming parties, and birthdays. DIYers know they're fun to receive and to give. A true Christmas story! Thank you Wes!

I had what I call a Santa Claus moment while purchasing my Christmas tree. After recently moving to Valdosta and starting over, I debated on even putting a Christmas tree up this year. While looking at the trees, Wes delightfully approached to assist and at that moment without even telling him my internal debate, I sensed his genuine spirit and decided to get one. His spirit continued to change my outlook on this Christmas when he offered to give me a free slightly damaged stand that was perfectly suited for my small tree. Wes demonstrated to me the true spirit of Christmas and that can only be described as a Santa Claus moment.
