When it's time to make the leap into a new DIY project, you might not have everything you need in the shed or garage. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Victoria Rental Center for tools, trucks, and large equipment.
Tool Rental
Start your DIY project with the right tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Victoria expand your tool belt with the items you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and return them when the job is done. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, we have used tools available to purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to maintain your yard. Fall will be here soon, so have a leaf blower ready to go. It's far less work than raking. It's also easy to use on concrete sidewalks, hardscaping surfaces, and driveways. You can rent one of our walk-behind, handheld, or backpack leaf blowers.
Generators
Whether you're running a large welding machine or working in a remote location, you'll likely need to rent a generator. Generators also keep basic electrical appliances running during a power outage. Make life easier during fieldwork or after extreme weather knocks out your power.
Heaters
If you can't stand working or being outside in the cold, browse our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They're safer than torch patio heaters because they have no open flame, and they also blow the hot air for greater coverage. We carry electric, gas, and propane heaters in various sizes. Pair this with good outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the evening with the extra warmth.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep cargo vans and trucks of all kinds on hand, with availability varying by store. Choose the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and mini skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we have in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like confirmation before you get there, call first to inquire about a truck, large equipment, or tool. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, check out these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to review the contract and the terms and conditions before you choose a truck.
When do I need to return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean any residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you may luck out and receive an excellent one. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We do not accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment and select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered straight to the job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prep your rented equipment, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
