Usually I give HD 5 stars but this instance it's 4 stars. A large store-bought item had to be delivered to my house. The delivery fees seemed excessive. $79 for basic delivery, $20 added for street to house and another $20 for a 2 hour delivery window. I'm 2 miles from the store and 75 feet from the street with no steps. I have no way to move a several hundred pound item on a pallet from the truck to the house so the fee was really $99 but your not told this until the order is almost complete. I was not asked if there were steps or the distance from the street to house. Additionally, being assessed for a 2 hour window was definitely out of line. Delivery charges should be based on distance from the store and based on street to house issues such as distance, steps and curbs. A charge for a 2 hour window? Why? Most other customer oriented vendors don't charge this. Why does HD do this because these fees certainly seem excessive? Why not display the charges and adjust them to the time and distance?

Great customer service

I do like this store, I bought a lot of flowers for my flower pots there this year. I called ahead to find the location for the items I was needing on 12/26/18. I was glad that I did as made it easier to find the down spout extensions I was wanting to buy. The cashier was nice and talked me into applying for a Home Depot credit card.

This is our home store and every time we are in there the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the store is clean, and has a great product selection.

When looking for a new range we were met in the appliance department by Home Depot employee who was very knowledgeable in all the products as well as delivery options not to mention the savings we could receive. Very nice and very accommodating!

Although I have been to other Home Depots around the Des Moines area, I shop most at the University Home Depot in West Des Moines. The staff is attentive, competent and friendly. I order often from Home Depot online, and ship my choices to the store for pick-up. The customer service desk staff is consistently helpful and friendly with pick-ups and returns.

I am in this store on a consistent basis due to my DIY projects. The employees are helpful even though it's difficult to find one sometimes. I know several cashiers on sight and they are always helpful. The employee in the electric aisle is quite knowledgeable and helpful. The paint mixing people are well informed and quick to respond. Generally, when passing an employee, I'm asked of I need help. From time to time I buy extra materials knowing the return process is very easy and quick. Allowing checkout at the service desk is convenient and appreciated. The store is well laid out and it's generally easy to find specific items. If I can't locate something, the online help is available and useful in finding that item's location. Sometimes I need a length of wood cut and there is an extended wait before a store employee appears at the saw. I would suggest the store post a phone number by the saw, so customers can call for help if the wait is excessive or an authorized person is not nearby.

The associate was extremely helpful in solving my lighting dilemma.

I wish all shopping trips were this easy. I asked an employee where I might find the article I was looking for and he walked me right to where it was. Other home improvement retailers are like tombs with nary an employee in sight. Sometimes it's hard to even find someone to take your money at the check out. I've always has good experiences at Home Depot

When I needed help I did not have to look all over the place for employees to help me. Everyone was willing to help and I want to give a special thanks to Patrick who made my visit much easier and faster! The clearance items were easily identifiable and organized.

Great variety of most items. Timothy from kitchens has been an awesome help several times. He always has an big smile and He listens and tries to fill in Our needs.

I went to Home Depot to get away from awful service of the local hardware store I have. Home Depot proved to be by far worse. Appliance guy had "20 years of experience" he told my wife. yet when I picked up washer and dryer and questioned why he was giving me 2 cords, his response was one for dryer and one for washer. everyone knows that is not nessasary. When I asked for advise on how to install pedistals, he responded "never done it, don't know" I could have ordered them on line at a store 30 min closer, and got a 160.00 ebates rebate.

I tried to order a Weber grill online but was unable to. I went into the store and customer service was extremely helpful. Several employees assisted in getting our grill. When they brought it to us, the department manager told the employee that these models were $200 off this week! Wow, we left very happy customers!

Great Store with extremely knowledgeable employees. It is a very convenient location and we always have a friendly face to greet us and help us with any questions we may have.

The cashier, Wendy, was very sweet and accommodating. She offered a discount for signing up for a HD debt card. She was very kind and patient with my blunders. Stores can take a lesson from her.

Always find what I need at this Home Depot--for house and for the garden.
