How do I seal around a door?
If you have cold air seeping in under the door, check your door sweep, the rubber piece on the bottom of the door, for cracks and missing pieces. Replace it if it's torn or otherwise damaged. When a house settles unevenly, pieces that once fit snugly can go off-kilter. Gaps can form around the sides of doors or the thresholds may loosen with time. Fill the space with weather stripping or foam tape, and caulk any cracks in the wooden door frame. If you're still feeling drafts around the door, place an insulated fabric door snake along the ground.

What are good wintertime DIY projects?
When the temperatures drop outside, it's challenging to work out in the elements. However, cleaning up the yard before spring gives the earth time to settle and reset before plants start growing again. A weekend organizing and cleaning the shed or garage will pay off when the weather warms. You won't have to replace lost tools because you can find what you've got. Polish up the tools, clean the rest of the house with cleaning tools, and you'll be ready when the cold moderates and the sun comes out.

How do I prepare for freezing temperatures and snow?
When you live in a location where snow is possible, it's smart to upgrade or organize your snow removal tool kit before a storm hits. Check that the snow blower is working and accessible, then oil up the snow shovels. Don't forget to get out the sleds for the kids, and prep ice melt or salt and a salt spreader. Ensure your outdoor faucets are drained and covered, too, with all garden hoses disconnected. Basic preparations like these keep you ready for whatever winter weather brings.

Are Kids Workshops offered at the Yorkville Home Depot?
Yes, the Yorkville store offers in-person Kids Workshops. These free in-store events take place every first Saturday of the month between 9am–noon. Registration for kids workshops is now available online and secures your spot at the event. Keep little doers engaged with a new kit pack for each event. Kits include all necessary craft materials, kit instructions, certificate of achievement, stickers, an apron pin, and a Discovery Education extension activity. Any required tools, such as paint, are provided at the workshop. Kits may be ordered online at our Kids Projects Activities page or picked up in-store if you prefer to participate in the workshop from home. Visit our customer service counter or call us to check availability.

How do I check the balance of my Home Depot gift card?
Home Depot gift cards are a popular choice for the holidays, housewarming parties, and birthdays. DIYers know they're fun to give and to receive. They can be purchased at our stores or online at homedepot.com. If you receive a gift card, you can visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you or check your gift card balance online. Redeem our gift cards for online or in-store shopping, all with no additional fees.

Customer service is the best
Every employee is so eager to provide assistance. Pam happily answered all of my questions and showed me the best products to use for my particular projects. As I checked out, Kathy was so friendly and put a huge smile on my face. In a country where customer service is almost void, it is so refreshing to have a place with employees who are so knowledgeable and helpful with kindness. Scott Riforgiate

          Great customer service
I was very pleased with the customer service I received today from Sammy and Carlos at the service desk. I had an issue with an online order and they both happily helped get it straightened out for me. They were both very polite and helpful, kept a smile the entire time. It was much appreciated!

Rude and lazy and Inuktitut staff. Not veteran friendlt
Lazy employees not willing help me for I g me to take my money to another store. Casheire challenge me as a veteran. She also refused to accept my military if card as military is card are not or off of military service. I think you have that backwards.
