Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. Your rental likely won't come with a new blade. However, you may luck out and have a sharpened one. As there's no guarantee, it's better to purchase a suitable blade, just in case you need it.

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment and select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered straight to the job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours' notice so we can adequately prep your rental delivery for you, and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and that you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
