Q:How much sand to buy for 84sq ft

Answer This Question

A:  Ballpark figure I'd say 84

by|Apr 17, 2024

A:  I am correcting myself… a cubic foot is 12x12x12. The side of the bag says .5 cu ft, means they are figuring 6” deep of 12x12 space.

A:  Rhino is correct, but keep in mind, a square foot is 12” x 12” x 12”…. If you’re using it under pavers, depending on how much sand base you want, you’ll probably use about 2” deep of sand… so one bag will cover more than a foot.

Don’t buy this for paver fill
The quality control on these bags is very very poor. There are so many large pebbles. This should be full of fine sand. I highly suggest a different product for sweeping between the cracks of your pavers.

Used this to create a base for my retaining wall to make a flower bed. Easy to level the retaining wall blocks with this underneath

          Rocks are 50% of it
Paver base is supposed to be free of rocks! Try his stuff is 50% rocks about 3/4-1 inch. To set pavers it can’t have any!! I thought it was just one bag. 1. Bag pictured here is not the same bag as Home Depot sku. Listed in discription.

Made leveling my walk way nice and simple. Sorry I didn’t take a picture of the sand but it’s under the pavers
