Q:Would this be a good choice to repair exterior siding on wood frame house? Decorative not structural. Current is ACTUAL 13/16" thick by 8" wide. So, 1" by 10" cut to actual 8" should work?

          Answer This Question

A:  1 inch board is actually 3/4 inch thick , that simply means it would be 1/16 thinner. not a big deal at all. you will need to rip it to the exact width ahs 10" boards area actually 9 1/4 wide.

This is my go to type of wood for my DIY projects. It’s very affordable, easy to sand, and the wood grain pops out nicely when stained.

The boards looked like they were in a fight at the sawmill. Whoever picked them out needs to get an eye exam. After waiting for a week then I got them home and thought I could still use them, I went to a wood shop and spent the money on decent wood for my bookcase.

I bought 2 of them for window casing, so I had to select some of the straighter boards, most of them were ok, but if you need the full width you will have to look through them carefully

I built my hubby a under-counter organizational shelf system for his pc & misc items. I used special walnut Varathane wood stain from HD that matched my existing wood perfectly.

I used it to make a shelf! I needed something for above my TV, but everything to buy was expensive! I decided to make my own! It is light weight but sturdy and it stained perfectly! I loved it so much I bought a second to make bathroom shelves!

I had to dig through several piles of boards to find good ones. There were many with holes, notches, and scapes. Overall the board is good and worked well for the project I used it for.

Great wood to learn on. After watching Paul Sellers videos I got the courage to make 3 workbenchs, a chisel box and now a keyboard stand. No nails were used in building the stand. I would have never tried to build this if a coworker didn’t ask me to make him a stand so that he could stand while working. The dovetails aren’t perfect but in time I’ll get much better.
