Q:is this a true 1' by 12 ?

Answer This Question

A:  1 now equals 11/16 . 12 now equals 11 7/64 . If by 12 you refer to 12' length, it will be at least 12', probably a fraction over.

by|Dec 11, 2023

    A:  The 12 is still 12. 1 is now 11/16 . A pound is 14 oz. A half gallon is 48 oz. A quart is 28 oz. Toilet paper is half-a$$ed.

      Answer This Question

A:  Keep in mind that untreated wood used in something exposed to water and the elements like a flower box, especially cheap wood will rot quickly. Use ground contact treated lumber.

Where have all the good trees gone?
Not too warped and not too many bad knots. It was going to make two small end tables with three shelves each. I cut a 4' length into three 16" pieces and then into six triangles. I got one small end table and an extra shelf since two of the shelves split before I could even round off the corners. Now, do I buy another board to finish the second table? I'm gonna hafta sleep on it. Not the end table... it's too small.

It took a little while to find a suitable piece of wood for a porch leaner. The one I purchased was a good choice.

With the exception of a half loose knot in the middle, this board could not be better.

Worked well for intended purpose - to build an enlarged drill press platform for improved woodworking. Minor warpage caused little problem.

The particular piece I purchased was in pristine condition however many of the other pieces there were warped, twisted, cupped, checked, and cracked in some areas. I had 20 pieces to choose from and I would've used 3.

I needed some boards quickly so I ordered online from Home Depot trusting they would have some good ones ready when I got there. I should have taken the time to read the customer reviews. When I got them home I was disappointed to find that every board was warped. One was chipped on the end bad and not suitable for shelving. I sure got laughed at for trusting the big guy. My bad for being in a hurry and next time it'll be worth the drive to the local lumber yard.

Purchased a 6 foot board to use on a DIY bookshelf that I found on Pinterest and wanted to make after we decided to upcycle wood crates that we had used for party decor. We cut the wood into two for the length of the three crates, screwed the crates together, then screwed the board to the top and bottom of the crates. We added hairpin metal legs and lightly sanded the boards. I think it looked great and can be used as a bookshelf or television stand.
