AnswersYes, I have used them for that purpose. I just use a hatchet to 'sharpen' the end of the board that goes into the ground. They work great for tomatoes and all, as long as the board doesnt have a large knot in it which is a weak point.

Worked for blanket ladder

I originally bought the wood for a kitchen project but once I cut it to size and realized it's not really 2" but 1.5" I couldn't use it so...i repurposed it into a blanket ladder! These retail for a ridiculous amount of money and if seen some diy will paint sticks (yes, paint sticks) but this was even cheaper and worked out perfectly. You do need to rumage through the entire pile but after some sanding it was awesome.
Boards were a little warped but for the price I cant complain they worked perfect for my project.

HD lumber has gotten beyond terrible. At best one piece in 20 is usable. The rest is literal garbage. I swear this is where the wood for hockey sticks comes from.
