The dual outlet allows two independent supply lines to be attached to a single valve. Ideal for adding dishwashers, ice makers, water filters and instant hot water dispensers to existing water supply. Have this under my kitchen sink for faucet (top outlet) & dishwasher (side outlet). Removing dishwasher & not replacing it for awhile. Will water flow from side outlet when water is used @ sink faucet after water line to dishwasher is removed? Do I need to replace this dual with a single outlet valve?
Hello Kat-Yes the R1701LRX C1 is a dual outlet single handle which means when the water stop is in the open position, water will flow out both outlets. If you wanted to control each outlet individually, we would recommend the R1701DVX R. The other option would be to cap off the one side until you are going to hook up the dishwasher. Hello Kat, Yes water would flow out of the unused outlet. You don't have to replace the valve however. You can simply cap the unused port and continue to use the faucet normally. I've included a link to the cap below. We carry it in all our stores as well as online. I hope this helps.
