Can this be used to place heat cable underground to prevent snow and ice buildup on a path?

Answer

NO. EMT conduit is designed to house electrical THHN wire. It's NOT designed to be placed underground. There are very specific cables designed to be placed underground and embedded in concrete. Suggest you consult your local Home Depot who may be able to assist you with this request.
