About This Product
Globally inspired, the Ikat collection by Safavieh creates a new spin on traditional tie-dyeing techniques used for centuries by Silk Road weavers. From playful to sophisticated, the luxurious and colorful designs are hand-tufted of pure wool for exotic glamour. This is a great addition to your home whether in the country side or busy city.
Highlights
- 100% Wool
- Cotton backing, rug pad (sold separately) recommended to help prevent shifting and sliding
- Hand tufted in India
- For an instant decorating makeover, this area rug is one of the easiest and most fashionable ways to refresh a room with character and style.
- Available in multiple sizes and/or colors
- Vacuum regularly and spot clean; for hard-to-remove stains, professional rug cleaning is recommended; rotating your rugs every 3-6 months will protect against uneven wear from foot traffic and furniture weight
- Use rug protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening piles
- New wool rugs shed as a natural consequence of how they are made; vacuum a new wool rug 1-2 times a week for the first few weeks using a low pressure vacuum cleaner without beater bars; vacuum in the direction of the pile, not against it; do not pull loose ends or stray loops, clip them with scissors to remove
- Avoid direct sunlight as it will cause the colors in your area rug to fade over time; place your area rug away from direct sunlight whenever possible
- Packing and shipping of your rug may cause temporary creases; these surface waves are not imperfections or damages and will gradually recede; back-rolling or reverse rolling is the fastest and easiest way to remove creases in your area rug; allow ample time for your rug to settle, these creases and waves will normally flatten out

Beware of these Hand Tufted in India rugs made by Safevieh
It looks like their Indian factory or workshop never clean the wool thoroughly before tufting it. You can find all sorts of trash pieces woven and trapped in this rug, which include but not are limited to wood splinters, stones, floss, etc. The wool they use is also as rough as a tooth brush. I returned the rug immediately after purchasing it. The lesson learned here is to never trust a wool rug of price under 4 digits.

Still Sheds !
While I love the pattern, I’ve had this runner for 18 months now and it’s still shedding ! Despite the fact that I live alone with no pets, and using three different types of vacuum cleaners over that time period, there seems to be no end in sight.

Hello, Thank you for your review. Please be advised color is subjective. Please be aware there may be a dye lot variance. Rugs from different production timeline will look slightly different when compared next to each other. Due to differences in monitor size & screen resolution, rugs may appear slightly different in your browser than they do in person.

This is a very nice quality rug. It has the turned-under edge that I like, rather than binding. The green is exactly the color green I was hoping for. I do wish the "ivory" background was lighter, but it will work very nicely in my home. It was available on several other sites but I chose Home Depot because if needed, the return would be the easiest. Did curbside pick up and it was AWESOME! Didn't have to get out of my car. Super happy.
