Questions & Answers

How much does this Flexio 2000 sprayer weigh?
ByJun 23, 2025
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

The older Flexio 2000 model weighs just under 8lbs without paint in the cup. The 2500 weighs in at 4.5lbs. The Flexio 4000 gun only weighs 1lb without paint in it, the turbine sits on the ground. Good luck with all your projects.

Do I have dilute the paint for the sprayer
    ByJun 5, 2024
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

It depends on how thick the paint is and what the project is. There are a few things you can do to paint/stain to ensure it sprays well. 1 - Stir the paint/stain with a mixer in a drill until its creamy smooth, about 1 min per gallon 2 - Strain the paint/stain before it goes into the sprayer 3 - Add a flow agent, like Floetrol or Paint Easy (this is not a thinner) for latex paint – Penetrol for oil based 4 - Or you can thin, even as little as 5% can make a big difference, water for water-based materials and mineral spirits for oil-based material. Up to 20% is fine. Call us for more help at 1-800-328-8251.

It's not usually a requirement, but it would help with thicker materials. Can I use this sprayer (Flexio 2000) to spray Elastomeric Paint? (BEHR PREMIUM Elastomeric Masonry, Stucco and Brick Exterior Paint). If not what type of sprayer do you recommend for this paint?

                    Answer This Question

It should work, Wagner doesn't make exclusions for elastomeric paint is just regular paint that has the ability to expand and contract with the surface instead of cracking.

                    By|Jun 7, 2023

We do not suggest using any homeowner style paint sprayer for Elastomeric paint, which usually requires an airless tip size of .021" minimum and at least 3000 psi. We suggest one of our commercial tools from our Titan brand, you can see them here - https://www.titantool.com/products/electric-airless-paint-sprayers/impact-series.html

Impressive, and even better, when on sale.
This product saved me a significant amount of time and money, in comparison to hiring someone(anyone at this point), to complete the staining of a garage project. Much faster than Brushing/ Rolling on T-111 rough siding. It takes a few minutes to become accustomed to the controls, however, I was impressed with the flow control and the ability to narrow and widen the spray pattern. The key to using this is to hold it level, at all times.

                          Perfect, then pathetic.
I bought this yesterday to paint my kitchen cabinet door with Behr cabinet paint. It worked great for an hour or so, then it started sputtering paint in blobs. I think this happens when you pause between sprays. I had to remove the nozzle assembly and wash it, which seemed to solve the problem. Still, I had to wipe the blobs on the door with a brush. Judging by other reviews this is a common problem, yet the manual does not address this in the Troubleshooting section. I suggest spraying on a test site before each use, or don’t buy this to play it safe. This sprayer can very quickly ruin your project.

The Flexio 2000 comes only with the iSpray front end nozzle which is set up for your fence, deck and walls and will leave a roller like texture with unthinned latex paint. You need to add the Detail Finish front end nozzle, part #529013, which is set up for your trim, furniture and cabinets. Very nice mid-grade sprayer. Spits a little if you let it sit for more than about 20 minutes between coats. Easy to pull off, clean, and reattach nozzle on the fly. Takes an effort to clean when done but I would assume no more than other sprayers. Left a smooth but not a glass-like finish using unthinned Benjamin Moore house paint. Much nicer looking than brush strokes. Sooo... Reasonably priced, very time saving, nice finished look, pain to clean. Well worth it.

More than likely it's dried paint holding it together. There are a couple of tricks. You need more leverage and you can use your belt to get it. Just wrap the belt around the largest section of the paint container, hold it as tight as possible and use it as a handle to help unscrew the cup. The next trick is to submerge the front end in a bucket of tap hot water for a few minutes. This should cause the cup to expand which may break the paint seal holding it. Good luck. WagnerSprayTech
                              Faster than brush or roller
I used the Wagner Flexio 2000 to paint wainscoting panels. The sprayer did a good job but did start to spatter after about 20 minutes of use. The finish closely resembled a fine finish paint roller. I think that in order to achieve a nice splatter free paint job, you would need to thin the paint before spraying. It is definitely faster than brushing or rolling on.

You need to think paint with water significantly more than recommended in the directions. Cleaning is a process and needs to be done multiple times in the day.

Worst possible experience - RUINED my project
This awful paint gun did a great job RUINING a project that I just spent 3 days preparing. I had just finished priming and sanding a new window casing that I build myself and applied an exterior latex paint, something this gun touts "enough power" for, and it came out in a complete lumpy spatter that dried in what looks like a "beaten metal' texture. This thing is ridiculous - I would not recommend it for anything but spraying a cheap outdoor project - maybe a fence. Save your money for something that can do the job. Now I get to go scrape and sand my new casing and start the process over. I can't believe the employee at HD paint desk recommended this thing. Returning it same day - awful.

                                  Fantastic Spray Control
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My previous experience was with the Wagner Control Spray Double Duty. I used it to stain my fence abd it worked very well. Now I have the Flexio 2000. The big advantage with it is the amount of control you have. The Flexio 2000 has X-Boost Turbine to control the amount of air you need (high and low), the Material Flow Control with 12 steps and the width selector. All of these options give you so much control over your project. My first job was to stain a patio chair that I just made out of pine. I took the Flexio 2000 out of the box, placed a liner in the paint cup, poured in the stain, set the X-Boost on low, the flow control on 3 and began straying. The only adjustments I made were to change the angle of the spray and set the Flow Control to 1. This gave me a very light amount of stain. I have to give it 2 passes but I had total control over amount of stain I wanted. It was so much better than using a brush to apply the stain. It took me less than 10 minutes to spray the entire chair. I was amazed. Wagner advertises 5 minute cleanup, I don't think it even took that long. It was super easy. I poured the stain back into the can, removed and discarded the liner, poured some mineral spirits into the cup and sprayed it out. Then I disassembled the unit, wiped everything down and put it back in the box. Perfect.

I bought my paint sprayer a few months ago, needing to paint my storage container at my sculpture studio. I had students paying on it last year after a project, and wanted to create a fresh canvas. The FLEXiO 2000 was incredibly easy to use, had great coverage and for the price, and incredible deal. Oh yeah, it was easy cleanup too.
