    Q:Will product kill rattlesnake weed?
    by|Feb 28, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  Hello Nustin, This product “burns down” almost any vegetation, it has not specifically been tested on rattlesnake weed, but should work fine. Just remember that it will kill exposed foliage, but not the root below ground level, so reapplication may be necessary for larger established weeds. Hope this helps! Best regards, Customer Service

        Surprisingly Effective And Safe Too
I was interested in using a weed killer that didn’t contain glyphosate or other more dangerous chemicals. I used this product on some dandelions I had in my zoysia lawn. It comes in an easy to get started spray type bottle. I sprayed the dandelions one night. Within 24 hours they stared wilting and within 48 hours they were completely dead. I was surprised at how quickly and effectively the product worked. The spray bottle did fatigue my hand if you are spraying a lot but I prefer that to having to worry about batteries in an electronic sprayer. I will definitely be buying this again for use on my lawn with the peace of mind of a safer product.

EFFECTIVE WEED KILLER BUT SPRAY NOZZLE COULD BE MORE ROBUST.
Packaged in a 128 oz. plastic jug, this weed killer is ready to use, without dilution or mixing. The supplied spray nozzle and tubing are connected to a self-sealing port uncovered by removing the cover plate in the top of the product cap. The tubing is relatively small diameter but allows sufficient flow when the nozzle trigger is actuated. When not in use, the nozzle can be stored under the handle of the jug, retained by the molded in detents. The spray nozzle has two spray patterns (stream and mist) as well as “off” positions. If there is no breeze, the mist mode provides even coverage, but if any breeze is present, the instructions recommend using the coarse (stream) mode. While the spray nozzle functioned well during the initial use, it does not engender a feeling that it is robust enough to last for the entire contents of the container, though, so far, it is functioning well (providing good hand/finger exercise in the process). To test the efficacy of the product, it was sprayed on a dandelion surrounded by grass, as well as some miscellaneous weeds growing in the crack in a driveway. In both cases, the next day the subject weeds were withered (see before and after photos). The grass surrounding the dandelion showed no ill effects. The product performed as advertised and would be a good choice for spot treatment of isolated weeds.

Quickly kills broadleaf weeds such as plantain and dandelions without affecting the grass
Definitely kills broadleaf weeds such as plantain and dandelions without affecting the grass. Refer to the photographs. The pump dispenser works well, even for someone who does not have strong hands. The container is a good size to carry. Be sure to give the tube a sharp tug when first use the product to unlock the fluid path. When first tried using the product could not get the pump handle to work, at all. Then, I pulled sharply on the tubing and felt it give a little and then the the pump handle worked flawlessly.

Environmentally friendly, works on broadleaf weeds
Mighty Mint Clean Green Selective Weed Killer is an environmentally friendly iron-based weed killer that kills broadleaf weeds, including Black Medic, Broadleaf Plantain, Broadleaf Weeds, Bull Thistle, Burweed, Buttercup, Canada Thistle, Cinquefoil, Common Chickweed, Creeping Charlie, Dandelion, English Lawn Daisy, False Dandelion, Ground Ivy, Heal-All, Moss, Narrowleaf Plantain, Oxalis, Prostrate Spurge, Shepards Purse, Speedwell, White Dutch Clover, wild geranium. dove-foot geranium, oxalis, as well as moss, algae and lichens. My master gardener herbicide class taught us that you should read the label at least 3 times: Once in the store, once when you get it home, and finally just before you use it. You're supposed to shake it before use, but there's not a tight seal with the sprayer. You're not supposed to get it on your skin so I wear gloves and eye protection. I found this effective at killing the weeds that were listed on the label. It's not a systemic herbicide so it doesn't kill everything, i.e. had little effect on a plant with waxy leaves. The two biggest dandelions that I tried it on appeared to be dead the next day but the center rejuvenated and was greening up. A second application seems to have done the trick. I didn't realize that I needed to prime the sprayer by squeezing repeatedly, so tried to insert the connector more firmly and managed to break it. The company promptly sent a replacement. They recommended the Youtube video "Mighty Mint Gallon Instructions" for attaching and priming the sprayer.

Love the bottle -- and its pet-friendly, too
I strongly prefer organic, plant-based weed killers even if they require a little extra effort or expense. This one is a good value and also extremely easy to use! One gallon is the perfect size. Anything larger gets heavy to hold after a while. Anything requires constant refills. The handle on the bottle is quite comfortable, and the spray handle snaps in place for storage. The hose comes coiled up inside the handle; just pull gently to extend it. For storage, the hose coils up and hangs near the top of the bottle taking very little space. This weed killer is a burnt orange color so it is easy to see in the clear tubing I have attached some before and after photos. I don’t have a lawn, but I do have several types of ornamental grasses in my yard. I tried this selective weed killer so I don’t have to worry so much about overspray. For this test, I sprayed it on a weed that is very tenacious in my area: Euphorbia Maculata , a.k.a. Spotted Spurge. This weed is not mentioned on this list of broadleaf weeds that this product can kill,, but it definitely kills the weed. Unfortunately, after a few days, it sprouts new stems and leaves. The package recommends a second application after 2 weeks, but for spotted spurge, spraying after one week works best for me.

        Works great!
I greatly like how the weeks disappear almost immediately. I know weeks take weeks to kill the roots but to see them gone fast is great. Once this dries it is safe for humans and pets to enter the treated area. The spray makes this an all in one treatment product. No more hunting for the sprayer because the sprayer is attached! Product is premixed and use as is.

        Alternative natural weed killer
This Clean Green Selective weed killer will target broadleaf weeds and not your grass. It’s a natural based product that used iron rather than some kind of pesticide or chemical that would be unsafe for humans, pets, animals, etc. So that’s a definite plus for anyone who has little kids playing in the yard or pets running around or birds coming to feeders. Bottle has a nice spray nozzle that attaches and makes for easy spraying.

        Ok weed killer
I have a ton of landscaping including trees, fences, beds and a deck. I purchased this primarily for the beds to keep the weeds down. The top was broken on shipping so I had to pour into a different container but this kind of helped. I sprayed some weeds in the mulch and it looks like some died. I also use preen and a weed barrier to try to prevent weeds. Hope this continues to help.

        Works for me.
This selective weed killer does work but it takes about three days to fully work. It comes with its own spray nozzle and syphon hose. There is no chemical smell at all and it has a brownish color to it which I found it great because it is easier to see where I have already applied it. It kills a multiple variety of weeds. I counted about twenty different weeds on the back of the bottle but it does kill other weeds too that are not listed. It also controls or kills diseases, moss and algae. It sprays evenly and stays where you spray it. It did not harm my grass. It seems like a very efficient and easy to use product.

        Broken pump
The Mighty Mint Selective Weed Killer for Lawns - Kills Weeds, Not Grass. The weed killer is a 128 ounce or a gallon of weed killer which is pretty big. The real dealbreaker was that the pump was busted and did not work despite my repeated attempts. As I stated earlier, it is a bit big item to carry around and will not be that comfortable. It does mention that once the sprayed area is dried, pets and people can enter it. I did look at the ingredients and seems like iron is about 1.5% and the other 98.5% is not mentioned at all. If I am going organic with my yard, I would like that information completely.
