cotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun and Shade Mix thrives in a variety of conditions. This grass seed mix contains Root-Building Nutrition, a combination of ingredients that is expertly crafted to help establish deep roots to grow thick, green turf so that you can build a better, stronger lawn from the roots up. This combination grass seed, fertilizer, and soil improver is designed for full sun and dense shade, and has medium drought resistance with medium to high durability. It can be used to seed a new lawn or overseed an existing lawn. For best results, apply in the spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 55°F and 70°F or air temperatures are between 60°F and 80°F. We recommend using a Scotts spreader to apply this product (please refer to spreader settings on product label). Water daily or as needed to keep the soil surface moist until the seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall. One 5.6 lb. bag of Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun and Shade Mix has a new lawn coverage of 745 sq. ft. and an overseeding coverage of 2,240 sq. ft.

Hello Maxi. Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix is best applied in either the spring or early fall. Do not apply when temperatures are expected to be over 85°F. This cool season grass seed germinates best when soil temperatures are above 55°F and air temperatures are consistently above 60°F. Grass seeds may be applied a minimum of 4 weeks after a weed control product. If grass seeds were applied first, wait until after the 4th mowing to apply the weed control. Please reach out to our Customer Service team at 877-220-3089 for further assistance if needed.

Is this seed good for sandy soil on Cape Cod
Hey there! Great question. Scotts Turf Builder Sun & Shade Mix is a great product for the Pacific Northwest. When dealing with sandy soil, we recommend using a soil improver, such as Scotts Turf Builder Lawn Soil, when prepping the area for seeding. Adding organic matter improves nutrient retention and water-holding capacity.
