Q:I am having a TERRIBLE time trying to disassemble (flatten out) this thing. I was able to push the tool tray back up, using the 2 metal arms on the sides. But I still can't flatten this ladder. Please help!

Answer This Question

A:  Push the tabs outwards that connect the tray to the ladder. Once they are pushed out, you can fold the tray up. For the ladder steps, lift up on the top step to fold the ladder. Please contact Tricam Industries directly at 800-867-6763 or by email at website@tricam.com if you are still needing assistance.

          Missing back foot
Received this ladder, opened it to make sure it was correct and it is missing a back foot. Otherwise seems like what I needed.

No assembly required (that's good). I would of given it 5 stars but for 2 small things. 1 The work tray is a little hard to release and 2 the ladder fold latch is a little hard to get used to. It is a little heavier than some but that is probably good because it is very sturdy. one thing that is very good for me is it will store flat against the wall behind an open door without the door hitting it. The maximum distance from the wall is 2.5 inches and I added a small drop down latch at the top to hold it in place. It was a decent price and fast shipping.

Had about a week, steps are deep but could be wider. Was excited to get this because it offers 4th step to reach higher. I read reviews that it is heavy, but it is really heavy! I'm only 5'1" and it is taller than me and is not easy to carry. And worse, first time I used it, I pinched my finger very hard between the top step and the bar that supports it. Ouch! Nearly passed out from the pain. Bad design, finger got caught in there somehow. If I can figure out how to get a receipt, as I ordered online and it came directly from Tricam manufacturing, with no purchase receipt, I will return it. It may be hard to get in my car, it's so heavy! Was planning to use when I work in client's homes, but it's too heavy. And I'm no wimp, but for a stepstool, this is not a fav. It also doesn't lock when folded, so its kind of wonky to carry as it can start to unfold, but some self sticking Velcro could fix that.

Good quality step stool. I'm 5'8 and can easily reach my 10' ceilings. I looked around in many websites and this was the best deal I found for a 4 step stool.

              Very Good Ladder
I picked up my ladder from the store and when I got it home and unwrapped it the back lower brace was bent. It had to be from rough shipment. It had 3 front feet and only one back foot. My wife and I tried it out and loved it. The deep steps are the best thing. It's healthy on old feet and very stable. It is not aluminum. Even though it's skinny it weighs about 40 lbs. You feel like you are standing on something very stable. I hunted for a while too find a 4 step stool/ ladder. Home Depot had it on-line but they were out of them. I checked every day until they finally got them back. I ended up bringing the damaged and flawed one back and Home Depot reordered and shipped me another to my house. While waiting for the new one I wrote an email to Tricam Industries Customer Support about changing the design of the ladder so it has four feet like the back feet. If you were to use the ladder outside the small feet on the front would sink into the ground because most of the weight is on the front of the ladder. I suggested that all they would have to do is turn the back feet around where the part that extends outward would extend inward. They wouldn't have to change the design of the ladder just take a right back foot and turn it around and do the same with a left back foot. The ladder would still fold up properly. I asked if they would send me a right and left back foot for my improvement suggestion. I signed off with my name and address. Tricam replied to my email and told me they where shipping me 2 back feet. She said by installing them it would void any warranty or liability. Actually it makes the ladder safer. I received them in 2 days. My replacement ladder came in yesterday and I changed out the front feet. Now I love my ladder/stool even more. I am attaching some pics.

great product at 1/2 the price of comps
Got this excellent ladder from HD for less than $50 shipped free. This is less than ½ of cost of comparable products. Nice wide steps and the indispensable paint/tool tray. Don’t let the Skinny name deter you, plenty of width and stability for your home projects. Third step will get you above 8’ for ceiling work with that all important grab rail for safety. While the steel construction adds weight it provides excellent stability and is not difficult to move and store, but don’t keep out of doors as steel will rust over time. Thanks HD for this great value!!

              Excellent product
This ladder allows me to reach a 9 foot ceiling while standing on a large comfortable step. The tray holds a 1 gallon paint can and tools. It is easy to open and close and is very sturdy. Glad I bought this stool.
