Can it be used on a ceiling?
                ByJul 16, 2026
                1 Answer |
                Answer This Question

Yes, but for best results it should be mounted against drywall. To prevent the possibility of sagging, consider cutting the panel to 48" x 48" or 24" x 48" so as to reduce the weight.

                  Perfect cottagecore look
Installed this over the weekend and it was easy to work with, we installed it with liquid nails and just taped it to the wall overnight. I caulked it the next day and when it was dry I was able to paint it very easily, two coats of acrylic latex from sherwin Williams ( wool skein and clary sage). I love it!

                    I should have passed
I wanted to do something extra for a boring guest bath. I wanted to try half wall paneling. I wanted shiplap as the plank is wider than bead board. This panel has been nothing but trouble. From the time I ordered to prepping to paint. My delivery date change 3 times in the middle of the night before the delivery date. Then when it arrived it looked as if it had been driven on. Large black scuffs. Then the packing slip was taped to the painted side and when removed took the primer with it. As you can see EACH groove has raised bumps that has to be sanded before painting to smooth it down. Sanding and priming avoidance was the reason for this purchase. I’m exhausted and I haven’t even started painting yet. If you are thinking this will save time it won’t. I still think it will look great once installed but there were no shortcuts to be had.

It’s just beautiful! I used it in a bathroom update and as the back of built-ins. Love that it was easy to paint and install. Exactly what I wanted!

These panels worked good for my purpose of cutting them to specific sizes to create a storage solution in my finished attic. My cutting skills are not that great, so there were a few challenges with the white finish flaking off on the cut edges, but I framed each piece with a plastic lattice trim and that just covered it all up. All in all, I'm very satisfied.
