Questions & Answers

can i use screws instead of nails?

can i use screws instead of nails?
Asked by: Joe
I'm installing this now in a bedroom and I've used GRK trim screws in a few areas that needed a stronger hold with no problem. As someone else said, you should pre-drill first and I went as far as testing on a piece of scrap to make sure that I had the correct bit thickness. Since I'm installing directly on studs, I found 1.5" brad nails to be enough in most areas.
