Can this be used in a bathroom
      ByMay 16, 2026

      Answer This Question

Hey Lynn, this product can be used in a bathroom, provided the location where it is installed will not subject it to direct contact with water. It is recommended to acclimate the material in the bathroom for 48 hours or more to prevent warping of the boards due to any changes in humidity. It’s also recommended to apply one or more topcoats of a latex or oil based paint, or a sealant, to prevent moisture penetration into the boards.

Can these boards be installed directly over popcorn ceiling and into studs or do OSB or firring strips need to be used first?
          ByMar 26, 2026
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

Hello, thanks for your question. We recommend using furring strips so that you can be sure your shiplap will be installed over a consistent and even surface. OSB could be used as well but we generally don't recommend it for this purpose because unless it's been installed perfectly, with the edges of each sheet nailed into a joist/stud, it runs the risk of sagging over time. It's also much heavier and difficult to install compared to the furring strips.

I ordered a fairly large batch of shiplap and trim boards from Home Depot online for a project at my house. Normally I prefer to pick out lumber myself since I am pretty particular about defects, but without having a truck, delivery was really my only option. I was a bit unsure at first, but it turned out to be a great decision. The communication throughout the delivery process was clear and consistent. I always knew when the order would arrive, which made it easy to plan my schedule. The driver was friendly, professional, and took the time to make sure everything went smoothly. My home is in a rural area with a steep hill, so access can be a bit challenging. The driver walked through his plan with me before unloading and made sure I was comfortable with where everything would go. He placed the bundles exactly where I needed them, which made a big difference when it came time to start the project. The quality of the wood really stood out. I expected I might need to sort through and return a few pieces, but everything looked great. The boards were straight, clean, and free of noticeable damage. Overall, the experience was better than I expected. I would definitely order this way again and would recommend it to anyone taking on a larger project.

I’m building a custom fireplace. I was happy with the quality of the shiplap. It’s not an expensive but It’s beefy enough and gives the custom vibe. I’m happy with the way it came out. Getting started on the mantle now. then the stone at the bottom.

My wife and I put this on our ceiling. It turned out just like we were hoping. Beautiful product and very nice quality.

Terrible quality control from the manufacture. The ends of many of the boards were not 90 degrees. Also the nickel gab size was not the same on many boards. So I had to make adjustments to many of the boards on a table saw to keep things consistent.

had to return 53 boards from my order due to Mold Spores, a lot of them. Doubled my labor moving boards to and from locations and then going through each to determine the real moldy ones
