Artisan Collection 1-Light Architectural Bronze Outdoor Ceiling-Mount Light

I wanted a 2 bulb light, but the one HD had online wasn't in stock, so we settled for this single bulb fixture. This Acclaim Artisan light appeared to match a pair of outdoor sconces we already had in style and, importantly, in color. The photo makes the fixture appear reddish brown. It is not. It's what you would expect "oil rubbed bronze" to be - almost black with a slight dark brown tinge. A call to Acclaim lighting, the company that makes this light, confirmed that the HD photos are wrong. We needed a light, still liked the style of this one and we didn't want to start searching again and wait for shipping, so we kept it and installed it. Though it didn't match our other fixtures, the oil rubbed bronze color matches the door hardware near where this light was to be installed so it still worked. It's also good to note the best quality (but then it's under 40 bucks) made of very light weight steel - about the weight of a tin can and easily cut with a tin snips. I liked the deep base as it has to hide a surface mounted electrical box - which it did after cutting out a section of the side so it fits over conduit. One of the clips inside the fixture that holds in the glass panels had come loose from it's spot weld and was lying in the box. A little super glue and it was good to go. We made this one work, but I'd think twice about buying another Acclaim light or ordering any light from Home Depot.

For the price I expected better quality & construction. It’s smaller than than I was expecting but that’s my fault for not looking at measurements. Luckily my husband is a handyman & was able to repair the little broken pieces. He also sealed it to prevent bugs from getting inside. Otherwise I would have returned it. In my humble opinion this item is overpriced!

quality construction, and efficient illumination. I will be installing a second bulb socket to even out the light distribution.
