Are these jointed or not? Pictures show both. Are the long arms one piece or two pieces?
the long arc arms are made up of 2 pieces that are connected together by the electrical cord in side the poles/pieces. To put the 2 pieces together, simply push together and then tighten/turn the collar to secure the pieces together
All of the photos are different. Some have jointed light poles and others look solid from the base. Do the extended lamp poles come in two pieces or are they one solid piece? Manufacturer photos look like one piece, owner photos look like two pieces...
each of the arc arms comes in 2 pieces connected together by the electrical cord in side the poles/pieces. The 2 pieces are put together by simply pushing the parts together and turning the collar piece to secure the pieces together.
Is the actual shade color light brown or black? I can't tell
The shades are made of brown wood.
Can 25 Watt colored party bulbs go in this for a party?
I would not use them. Tacky!
the lamp uses 3 x 60 watt each incandescent bulbs. Lower wattages can be used but not sure what colored party bulbs are.

How is the lamp adjustable? Can you swing the arms apart in different directions? Can you raise or lower the arms?

Yes, you can adjust them slightly before you tighten the poles up.
How do you assemble this thing? The written instructions (step 1: Insert tube E through base D) are impossible. the base comes with a piece of threaded tube already in it; so the threaded end of Tube E will not fit into the base. Am I supposed to disassemble the base? And what washers/screws should be in place in the finished product? This question was asked a year ago, and the Adesso rep's answer was unhelpful.
I ran into the same issue, however the instructions 2.0 included with my shipment did in fact say to remove the piece, although I didn't realize what it meant until I tried to attach the pole to the base. I removed the offensive nut and bolt, balanced the whole lamp on it's side and completed the assembly through the bottom. Found the entire process relatively easy and no cursing on my part was required. Would recommend lamp.
Please remove the piece that is in the base when you receive the item. You may discard that piece. This should be mentioned on your assembly instructions. See the inset that explains to discard that piece. then the bottom pole will fit into the base.
The Adesso rep was right, the instructions "should" mention this. But they don't. Terrible instructions and you'd think after multiple people having this issue that they would fix it. And no instructions, not even PDFs of the printed ones, are on the Adesso website.
We bought our lamp years ago and had same issue. I think we ended up disassembling the base but then couldn’t figure out washers. We jiggered it info place eventually but with no help from the instructions at all.

The shades are Approx 10” tall X 8” wide at the widest part and narrowing to 4” wide at each end.
