Product Overview

The American standard safe-T heater is designed to work with most American standard whirlpool tubs. The heater helps maintain a consistent temperature in the tub, allowing for a long, relaxing soak. Limited 1-year warranty.
  • Most american standard whirlpool tubs are pre-plumbed at the factory making them ready to accept the heater (check your model for compatibility)
  • Helps maintain a consistent water temperature for a longer soak
  • Equipped with a pre-set pressure switch so the pump must be running with water flowing in the whirlpool to allow the heater to turn on
  • Includes an intelligent high-limit so that the safety circuit will not "false trip" from hot tap water; it will only turn the heater off if the thermostat fails
  • A separate 120-Volt AC/15 Amp dedicated circuit with GFCI protection must be installed for this heater

I have the safe t heater 9075.120 which they suggested buying with my PROJECTA 60 in. x 36 in. Acrylic Rectangular Drop-in Whirlpool Bathtub in White. It is too small for the rest of the pipe connections. Is there a different model that I need?

Asked by Melros February 8, 2021

Answer

Melros, We would need to know the model number of the tub you purchased. The heater is for the American Standard whirlpool tubs that are manufactured for a heater. The connections for the heater come factory installed on the tubs. They are not sold separately. They will not work with another companies product. I can only tollerate water to 100 degrees. Does the Ez heater continue to heat the water to 104 degrees? How rapidly does the water lose temperature when the whirlpool is on?

Asked by Luci July 2, 2020

Answer

Luci, The EZ heat will only maintain the water temperature, it will not continue to heat up the water, so whatever temperature of water you put into the tub is what the heater will maintain.

Will this work with American standard tub model 2422lc.020? This is a 30x32 whirlpool drop in tub.

You would probably want to ask the manufacturer for the answer to this question.

What country is this made in?

Probably Mexico, as most water heaters are now made in Mexico. Which is why most water heaters only last about 4 or 5 years.

will this heater replace a rapid heat unit

No. It is meant to keep the already hot water warm while you bath.

What is the maximum temperature? How is the thermostat controlled? Is the heating element at a constant temperature? The product literature says that the heater "keeps the water warm" I would like to know more specifics of "how"?

Asked by jasperokc December 18, 2019

Answer

The heating element only maintains the water temperature of what is put into the tub. It will not heat the water if it was already cold. There is not thermostat to control the water temperature. Your American Standard Consumer Connections Team.

After one year of very light use my heater failed, shooting water out of the the box part with the American Standard logo (see picture) on it. As the tub was on the second floor it ruined my ceiling. A ceiling I had replaced because the old tub enclosure sprang a leak after 20 years. This product works well, when not destroying your home, however you'll need a dedicated electric circuit, which is another large expense. In the photo my index finger is pointing to where the water shot out on both sides.
