Q:how can I see the color difference between BONE and LINEN?

      Answer This Question

A:  I would say that on a color spectrum would see them as white - linen - bone - ivory. So Linen is closer to a lighter bone color or an off white color.

      by|Jul 15, 2019

A:  Bone is a little darker than linen, linen is almost mistaken for white.

A:  Bone is the color of an elephant tusk, darker than linen (creamy off white).

A:  Bone is more yellow. Linen is a light beige.

I have an elongated American Standard Toilet where the sides are flush, so have to install seats by reaching in the back of the toilet to screw on. This was easy to install. Like the simple lock mechanism. Shape was ok but it could have been alittle bigger in depth to fit the back better. Overall happy with it

I ordered this seat to replace an old one (also an American Standard product) in the guest bathroom that was deteriorating from many years of usage. The toilet itself is an American Standard product with an elongated bowl that was purchased and installed in March 1999. I was disappointed that this seat doesn't fit the toilet very well, and in fact, looks out of place on the toilet. In the attached photo, it can be seen that a substantial part of the toilet bowl rim that was concealed by the original seat when lowered (but with the cover opened) is now exposed. While I don't consider the appearance of a toilet to be as important as the appearance of a sofa or dining room table, the appearance should not give one an impression of a toilet assembled from mismatched parts. Also, this seat has a smaller opening than the one it replaced, which makes it less comfortable on which to sit. Due to the reduced opening size, the risk of someone urinating on the front of it while seated is increased. The slow-close feature, while interesting and somewhat amusing, was not a selling point to me and merely added to the cost. I recommend anyone who is considering this seat to look at a different product.

Thank you for your review as it is very important to us, We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with your new seat. Some toilets take specific seats since we do not have the model number of your toilet we are unable to detect if that would be the cause of your issue. Please contact our customer service dept. directly at 1-800-442-1902 for further assistance.

                    Sleek easy-clean toilet seat
I like everything about this toilet seat - the fact that it only took 3 minutes to install, the quick-release hinges for easy cleaning, the glossy white finish, and especially the soft close - except for its narrowness near the back of the seat. The fit being slightly "off" was surprising since this seat and my toilet are both Champion elongated bowls. The seat itself feels hefty even though it's plastic, and it's reasonably comfortable. The hinges were a bit tough to release at first but are now very smooth. It's much easier to clean around all the crevices without the seat on. We never leave the seat or lid up at our house (both are always left closed) and the soft-close has eliminated the awful sound of slamming toilet seats!

                    Very Nice
This slow-close toilet seat is very nice and was easy to install - but you have to remember to turn the locking mechanism before you attach it to the toilet. I've included a picture showing the hinges unlocked. You just turn them back after seating and lock them in place. The seat seems very sturdy and the slow-close feature works as described. This is nice to have in a house with lots of men!

PETS AND SMALL CHILDREN ALSO MR. EGGMAN ARE SAFE ONCE AGAIN
As you might garner from the summary title, the main reason you would want a slow closing toilet seat lid, is if you have small children or pets, you will never have to worry about their heads/neck getting hurt by a falling seat. Instillation was easy. Does just as it states, slow closing. OK, I know your wondering about Mr. Egg-man, when i was little I took raw eggs and put them on the toilet seat, then I would take the lid and slam it down to make egg art in the toilet bowl. Needless to say, my mother did not appreciate art, and my seat got slammed a few times as well..

                    Comfy, Slow-Close
Built of plastic, this slow close seat is a "snap" to install. First, install the plastic bolts to the toilet. Be sure they are tight! Then, twist the caps on the toilet seat hinges counter clockwise, which unlocks the securing mechanism. Snap the seat hinges onto the bolts, and twist the caps clockwise, locking the hinges to the bolts. Very nice! The seat is comfortable enough, and the slow close mechanism works well. If you have an issue with the seat sliding back and forth, check that the hinges haven't come loose.

The seat is very comfortable. No "clank", it closes softly.
I'm not sure how, but the seat and lid each close quietly, as if on a cushion of air... even if you push the seat down. Great when the kids are around! It also is very comfortable to sit on. At first, out of the box I thought the plastic was flimsy, but once installed it feels very solid and secure. It is plain, nothing fancy, but well-worth the money for the 'quiet' feature.

Had hoped that this would be as durable as an American Standard toilet bought approx. 15 years ago, but though it looks nice, it is not at all sturdy. If one sits on the closed seat cover to change shoes, the seat cover slides to the side of the seat, thus causing one's body to tilt suddenly. Since we have only had this item for a couple of weeks, I plan to return this item and look to find another like the older product.

Curly - We generally do not recommend having people sit on the lid itself on this type of toilet seat. I would suggest you look into a wooden seat if you are wanting to sit on the lid itself. Sincerely American Standard Technical Team. AmericanStandard
