The float started to curve with the humidity.
After used it, with the humidity the tool started to curve, so useless for the original purpose but only for BBQ as firewood.

Basic wood float, made of hardwood (maybe maple). This will get the job done smoothing concrete or mortar before moving onto a finishing trowel. The float is light and easy to use/clean after. The surface has a slight bow in it and is not completely flat but it will still smooth cement okay. The wood is hardly and not as likely to dent and scratch as a softwood like pine.

The moment the float hit the concrete it swelled from water contact and broke. Spend a few more dollars and get the metal one

It worked ok, and for its purpose, but $12 is a bit pricey, for a small piece of regular wood.
