    Handy size, worked well...until
A nice handy sized little trowel. Worked well until it bent at the weld. It really needed to be welded on both the top and bottom, not just the bottom. It can be bent back, but I suspect only a time or two before the weld breaks and the parts go their separate ways. Either mine was the only one so poorly welded or the others used theirs only in really soft soil. I gave this an average for overall as this seems typical in retailers race to the bottom for the cheapest price (and quality).

      Gets the job done
Received this tool in the mail a couple weeks ago, haven't really had a chance to use it do to weather here, but upon physical review of the tool it's a very well built too, the handle is made out of a hardwood, probably hickory, it's got a a coating on the wood to give it some protection from the elements, the handle also has a steel reinforcement collar for the wood handle, the tool appears to have some kind of coating on the metal, not sure if it's paint, powder coating or Teflon

good tool at a good price
The Anvil 5-2/5 in. Wood Handle Transplanter/Trowel is well made. The tool is attached to the hardwood handle very securely. The handle is shaped very comfortably for use. The tool will be very useful for planting bulbs and other plantings that require specific depths for proper planting. This tool will also be very useful for me to use with my new metal detector.

      2 tools in one!
I just love this garden tool! It is listed as a transplanter which indeed it is but it is also an excellent cultivator! I practically live in the garden especially in the spring and summer months. Springtime is a busy time transplanting new vegetable and flower starts into the raised beds and the flower beds for which the flat hoe like side is excellent for! It makes just the right transplant hole for this purpose. Not too big and not to small. Then, the forked side is perfect for cultivating the soil around the small tight areas in the vegetable and flower garden where regular sized tools would be to large and potentially damage the plants. The handle and iron tines are very sturdy and durable as well! Sure to last many years!

      Well made spade
A lot of the hand spades I have or looked at a peer to have a thin shovel spade that either bends too easily or rusted after a season. This hand spade looks and feels like it should last for a very long time. The edge of the spade looks to be at least 16th inch or about twice the chromed spade I see at most stores. And because of the blackened finish, I can actually read the depth markers.

Nice tool for transplanting and potting up
This transplant trowel is a good tool for greenhouse growers as well as outdoor gardeners. It is a nice weight that is well balanced. The blade is coated and is marked with gradations, making it simple to gauge the depth of the hole you're placing your plants into. The very sharp point on the blade helps in cutting through roots when you're dividing plants, and it makes digging in even heavy soils easy.. The leather lanyard that is included is great for hanging the tool up after use or for attaching it to a tool belt for carrying to and from the garden. This is a very good hand tool for indoor or outdoor garden use.

      Great in the Greenhouse
The Anvil 5-2/5 in. Wood Handle Transplanter is a great tool for transplanting plants from smaller starter flats to large pots or the garden. It is well made and strong and has a strap to hang it on a nail for keeping it out of the way when not using. It has measurements marks engraved in the spade for determine the depth you are digging which helps when transplanting. Overall, simple, strong and very useful for planting, transplanting, and all garden and greenhouse work.

      Great for Small gardening projects
This is a good quality little spade for gardening. I like the quality of the Metal and the wood is very smooth. It is a sturdy tool that has already been perfect for some round stone installs and planting a sapling. I think it is an excellent touch that they added the measurements in imperial and metric so that I know how far I am digging. The wrist strap is also a great addition.

Great for digging, planting, transplanting bulbs and moving soil. Ideal for the professional landscaper or home gardener alike. In my family my wife is the gardener and she gave this her own 5 Star review This will come in handy in the yard as there are many gardens to take care of. You can dig with this tool and you can plant and transplant small garden flowers and such when you need to. They are great for digging and gardening in tight spaces or when working on your knees. Because of their compact size they are also ideal for camping and taking with you in the car when you need to have it on a road trip. Would recommend to others as it seem very sturdy and has a good weight and feel to it.

      Great planter tool
This Anvil transplanter is so handy when in our garden or simply planting vegetables or flowers in our planters. The spade is constructed of heavy duty material which is beneficial when transplanting in stiffer soils. The wood handle is easy to grasp and the very end has a minor flare to prevent it from slipping out of your hand. The spade even has a depth gauge engraved into the metal surface. This ensures each seed is installed at the recommended planting depth. Overall very pleased to date.
