Economy Rivet Tool

A:  You would have to call your local HD Rental Center. Don't forget to buy rivets.

A:  no

A:  How does it work? It uses pop rivets. You put the business end of the rivet in the hole, the other end goes into the long barrel of the rivet gun. Then you squeeze the handles together, which pulls a ferrule thru the rivet until the stem breaks off. Viola! The rivet is set. Move on to the next one.

A:  This particular tool does NOT work! The way it is suppose to work is: 1. drill a small hole through the two pieces (e.g., gutter downspouts) to be joined. 2. insert rivet into tool 3. hold tool and insert into the hole you drilled, making the rivet to into the hole and keeping the tool flush with the work surface. 4. squeeze the handle - this pulls the excess length of the rivet through, expands the rivet so it fills up the hole, and then cuts off the excess. Or at least it's supposed to. The tool I bought does not manage to cut off the excess.

A:  It doesn't, it will fail on you. I bought 2 of the tools and one never worked and the other failed on the 3rd rivet. The 2 rivets I managed to do did not break off where they were supposed to either.

A:  Hello, there. We do not currently have a video of this tool in use but will take your feedback into account as we continue to develop content. To use the RT100M, screw in the appropriate nosepiece that corresponds with the rivet size, place the long, thin part of the rivet into the nosepiece, insert the rivet into a pre-drilled hole, and squeeze the handles together until the mandrel snaps off. Then make sure the handles are fully open so the mandrel will release from the tool's jaws. A:  Put the skinny end in the nozzle. Put the bigger end where the rivet is to be installed. Squeeze the handle until it bonds the pieces together and cuts the excess off
