Will the Marquee ceiling paint work well in an airless paint sprayer or is it too thick? Thanks
Asked by DSW June 7, 2020
Hi DSW - Thanks for your question! Our Marquee ceiling paint can be applied with an airless sprayer. We recommend using a .015-.019" spray tip and 60 mesh filter. Best - Sara

Thanks for writing in. The Behr Marquee is available in Pure White No. 1458 untinted. It is a flat finish with no/minimal lap marks, uniform sheen and spatter and drip resistant. Once dry, it has a 1.8 mils film thickness and the advantage of this product over the others is the one-coat hide guarantee. I hope this helps. Best, Roxana N.

Excellent for a novice painter; Cameo White does cover in one coat
We need to repaint the interior of our house. About 10 years ago, we had it professionally painted in Sherwin Williams Travertine (creamy/light peachy color) in a Satin finish. It was very expensive. Several rooms now have faded patches, so it's time to repaint. I thought I'd paint a 5x8 bathroom to see if this is a project I could take on myself. Several YouTube reviews claim that Behr Marquee really does cover in one coat, ***if you choose a color from the One Coat Color Collection.*** I figured that if one coat really was enough, repainting the house myself would be a more feasible option. I didn't have strong feelings about a white for the bathroom, so I went with Cameo White (the lightest color in the One Coat Collection). The sample in Satin was really shiny, about the same as Sherwin Williams Semigloss, so I went with the Eggshell finish. The paint is thick, which makes it easy to work with for someone without much experience (very few drips). It did cover the Travertine in one coat! It took about half a quart and about 2.5 hours, of which 45 minutes was prep. Very doable. I tried to get before and after photos of a blank wall, but the colors didn't look right, so I attached "after" pictures only. The tub, toilet, and sink are bright white. The ceiling and trim are Sherwin Williams Extra White in Semigloss. I like the way it looks, but I think Cameo White may be too bright for the bedrooms. The One Coat Color Collection doesn't have a lot of white/ivory choices, but there are a few shades to consider. I currently have Crisp Linen, Varnished Ivory, and Moongaze samples on the walls (ivory/beige shades). Bottom line: if the time/expense/convenience of painting in one coat is more important to you than getting the perfect color, paint from the Behr Marquee One Coat Color Collection is worth it. And no, I wasn't paid or rewarded in any way for this review.

1 GALLON, 1- COAT HIDE TINTED TO WHITE CAMEO INTERIOR CEILING PAINT BEHR MARQUEE CEILING FLAT ONE COAT HIDE GUARANTEED Is what I used on my textured drywall kitchen ceiling. I last painted this ceiling 8 years ago. You must clean the ceiling of any dirt, dust or grease. Any water stains must be coated before applying topcoat. I used a heavy nap roller because of the Texture and the final result was great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this item about a year ago. I used for the cealing in my entire house, and to be honest one coating was all I needed.
The cealing looks really good. No line or Mark's from the painting, the quality of the job and time savings using this type of paint product is really worth the price.
One Coat Done!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use Behr paint exclusively for all of my painting, inside and out! It lasts beautifully. I have received many compliments on the beauty of my home, just because I used the best...Behr!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needed to paint the ceiling after roof damage repaired ( contractors were not responsible for the interior) . Went on easy, no irrating smells and covered in one coat!
there's not another brand better than this product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easily as good as paint brands that are twice the price. This is most often a one-coat paint, saving me the two step process, and usually a two product process, that I frequently encounter.
The Marquee line is not a single but better than the cheapest Behr. I actually believe the cheaper is a but thicker providing a little better coverage than the Marquee
Response from Sara, Behr Customer CareApr 6, 2021
Hi Melva - Thank you for reviewing our ceiling paint. I'm sorry to hear that the coverage and consistency were lacking! Our Marquee line should have a creamy consistency and cover your previously painted or primed ceilings in one coat. I've reached out to you via email to learn more about your project and assist you further. Thank you again for taking the time to submit a review, and I hope to hear from you soon. - Sara
