Q:I have the discontinued ICI paint on my bathroom wall done by the new construction builder and the can says low luster enamel for metal, wood, and interior walls. This Behr Premium says only metal or wood. Would this work over a settling crack after prep

Answer This Question

A:  Hi Linda, thank you for your question. While our Porch & Patio Floor Paint can be used over a previously coated surface, it is not designed to bridge or fill cracks. It may be best to use a concrete filler before applying the paint to ensure there are no issues with the performance. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any other questions. -Lina

A:  Hi CR - Thank you for your question. Our Low-Lustre Porch & Patio Floor Paint is not recommended on a plywood surfaces that will be subject to foot traffic. It's best to reach out to your local Home Depot for some suggestions on a similar floor coating that is suitable for a plywood stage platform. Best - Sara

Q:Can I paint this atop ceramic tile on my screened in porch and will it be slippery?
        by|Mar 3, 2021

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi Nancylee, Thank you for writing in! Behr Porch & Patio Floor Paint can be applied to unglazed, Saltillo, and clay ceramic tiles. The gloss sheen can become slippery when wet. To help increase slip resistance, I recommend going with the low-lustre (http://thd.co/3rdqxLO) or anti-slip (http://thd.co/3sRaX93) finish. I hope this information was helpful. Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions you may have. Best of luck with your project! ~Doris

I'm so frustrated with this, I can hardly stand it. I sanded my wood floors, I used the Behr indoor/outdoor primer, I timed each coat as I was advised and made sure not to lay on each coat too thick. I was lucky to leave town for five days after painting, which gave the paint well over the 72hrs recommended to dry, but I still tried to be very careful, as it was still very tacky. It has now been over a MONTH since I painted, I finally used a chair, and the legs immediately gouged into the paint, which still feels tacky and peels up easily when slightly scratched with a fingernail. I don't know how on earth to fix this mess, or if the paint will EVER dry.

          Hi LCR,

Thank you for your review, and I am sorry to hear the paint still feels tacky after allowing it to dry for a month. I can assure you this isn't normal. To fix, I'd recommend cleaning the surface with soap and water; this will help remove the sticky residue. To correct any of the peeling or scratches, sand any of the affected areas, clean the surface, spot prime and reapply the paint. To help with this, please reach out to us directly; we'd love to help in any way we can. -Edith Behr

Chipped up in only two days
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Applied with etching primary as directed, and waited more than suggested time spans before proceeding. Waited two days to put car in carport, and first time doing so,paint balled up. See pics.

Hi there, thank you for reviewing our paint. I’m sorry that the Porch & Patio Floor Paint has started to peel up. Actually, the Porch & Patio Floor Paint isn’t designed to be driven on. Also, it takes approximately 30 days for the paint to completely cure and reach its full hardness. To fix the issue, I recommend removing the loose coating, Priming with our Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer, and repainting over the area with a coating that can be driven on such as our Concrete & Garage 1-Part Epoxy. I’ve also reached out to you via email to learn more about your project and assist you with this further. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us, and I hope to hear from you soon! -Ronald

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased deck paint with non slip quality, and I am very pleased. This product is a little more in cost over the cheaper paints, but it is worth the difference giving a longer lasting peace of mind and quality to your wood. I highly recommend Behr paint where you will never regret using it.
