Peeled off and scratched
Associate told me this would be best for waterproofing my new deck for the first time. I wanted a light natural color. He chose a color and said it wouldn't be dark. The deck was stained June of 2022. After 2 months I started seeing scratches in the finish. Now that spring is on its way, the snow has melted off the deck. There is peeling finish all over the place. Besides it looking horrible, the color that was mixed with it was chocolate, so it was dark making it look worse. I don't know how I am going to get this to look nice ever again.

I recommend removing the loose coating, cleaning the surface with the All-In-One Wood Cleaner, and recoating. It "water proofs"....bu
The waterproof side of the product wroks as advertised but the"clear" product turns redwood quite yellow. One would assume clear means clear. Not so much.
The gate and fence in the photo are 2 1/2 years old. The finish was put on new redwood at the time of construction.

2 years product, will start peeling
I put this product on my cedar deck in June of 20 ( after a complete sand down). The product started to peel after the 2nd year. The green and black mold started to show after even after power washing with spray bleach. The mold seems to have gotten underneath the finish.
Love the golden color but is far from Natural ..................

This is not typical, and I can understand your disappointment. To fix the issue, I recommend removing the coating using a wood stripper or sanding. Then, clean the surface with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner to remove any active mold growth and brighten the wood. Once dry, apply two coats of the finish per the label instructions. Beautiful finish on new cedar fence
One moderate coat gave me fantastic results on my 6-week-old western cedar fence (Denver, CO area). Used 2 1/4 gal. of BEHR Clear Transparent Waterproofing Exterior Wood Finish on 75 feet of 6-ft high fence. Water beading off nicely.

Not clear at all!
This "clear" coat isn't clear. I'm very disappointed that it wrecked my beautiful pine siding. I tried all the big box brands and this is the less crappy one. Olympic was almost mustard yellow... I tried all methods of applying it and the brush worked best.

Two years later review
We applied this wood finish two years ago to our new fence (Seattle weather). It looked great for the first 1.5 years. After 1.5 years, I’ve noticed the color fading a little on the vertical surfaces, but it still looks good. On the horizontal surfaces like the 2x4 cedar piece on top of the fence, the finish is peeling like paint and the wood already has a gray patina.. I don’t think this finish will last for the 6 years it says with the horizontal surfaces already failing.

Doesn't clean well
My dogs have left muddy paw prints on the deck. It POURED down rain last night and the prints did not wash off?? I think it will come off with some effort but I should not have to scrub my deck!!! I do enough cleaning inside. I put a lot of work into this deck. Very disappointed

Great product
I have never refinished a deck before. The instructions were easy to follow and product went on well after preparing the surface. I applied 2 coats within 2hours of each other using a roller brush on main deck and paint brush on posts and steps. The natural color shows well and repels water now as it is supposed to.
