The BEHR PREMIUM Semi-Transparent Waterproofing Stain & Sealer provides mildew protection while waterproofing the surface. This stain protects your exterior wood surfaces from harsh weather conditions. This stain is ideal for decks, fences and siding and resists rain after 4 hours.

Q:Can this be used on Pressure Treated wood?

A:  Hi Steve, thank you for your question. Yes, our Solid Color Waterproofing Exterior Wood Stain can be used on pressure treated wood once dry. Typically, it takes 6-8 weeks for pressure treated wood to dry. We also recommend prepping the surface with the All-In-One Wood Cleaner No. 63. Good luck with your project! -Giovanna

            A:  All stains work by requiring a wood surface to be clean and unpainted so that it can soak into it. Since your wicker furniture already has paint on it, the stain will not penetrate, and therefore not dry and will not work. Unless the paint is removed, this is the only way stain will work on it.             Good coverage - accurate protection
            [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a pressure treated wooden fence - I believe it was built around 2005, so almost 20 years old and starting to need some major repair. I believe it's lasted this long though because I treated it about 8 years ago with the Bear waterproofing. The previous homeowners did not stain the fence at all. This product provided good coverage although untreated wood will use a lot more stain than wood that's been treated before. I was looking at the fence and it looks like it needs to be stained again which is right in line with the product's estimated lifespan.

                  Disappointed on longevity and peeling
                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At 4 years this stain peeled on all horizontal surfaces requiring a lot of prep work to reapply stain. The product was replaced under guarantee for the horizontal surfaces but not the vertical. The vertical surfaces have faded considerably especially in the sun reached areas. Never had a product do this before.

It sounds like you may have reached out to us previously, and I apologize if you didn't get the help you expected. To fix the peeling, I recommend sanding to remove the loose coating, cleaning with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner, and reapplying the stain. To fix the faded areas, you can simply clean with our wood cleaner and apply another coat (please note the opacity may change).                         [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve got a 30 yo pt deck in western ny that gets 8~9 ft of snow in winter and direct sun in summer and I’ve used Behr for 28 of those yrs. I’ve replaced 1 rim board from rot everything else is perfect, in fact most people think it’s a composite deck and not wood!
