Q:The slow close hinge on the actual seat is broken. Can this be replaced or fixed?

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for taking the time to contact Bemis Manufacturing. We regret any inconvenience you have experienced, and we assure you that we are anxious to retain you as a satisfied customer. Unfortunately, we do not carry replacement hinges nor can the hinges be fixed. Hinges are not replaceable on molded wood seats because once the screws are removed, the screw hole can be stripped, causing the hole to not hold new screws up to our safety and warranty levels. Hinges on plastic seats are installed at the factory while the plastic is still warm using special tools. Because of this, bumpers or hinges on plastic seats cannot be replaced. Bemis Manufacturing does offer a one-year manufacturing defect warranty that is handled through the location of purchase. If your seat is less than one year from the date of purchase, you can return the seat to the store for immediate return or exchange.

Q:have my seat for 10 months blue is rubbing off to white....not happy
    by|Sep 19, 2023

    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to learn you have experienced an issue with your seat. Molded wood toilet seats require special care and cleaning. The cleaning instructions that are provided with all our products recommend cleaning your toilet seat with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. To disinfect the seat, you can clean with antibacterial hand soap. Bathroom cleaners are harsh and can stain the seat or take the paint off. Please contact our friendly customer service at 1-888-722-6488 if you would like to discuss your concerns. We look forward to hearing from you.

      Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. White is going to be your standard universal shade of White. Cotton White, is designated for Toto's White which is a bit brighter than the standard White.

Great toilet seat! I love it!
I love this. It's solid, doesn't wiggle, and seems like it'll last a long time. The Dresden blue color is perfect for me and matches my towels. I've been living with a lousy seat for so long, this $20 investment is a fabulous upgrade to my quality of life.

The seat is good quality, but the color is not the same as the original. I ordered the color of blue on our building papers but this is a brighter blue. I can live with it. It did not come with instructions, but I knew how to put it on. Don't over tighten the plastic bolts. I snapped one off. The hardware store I went to did not have the style I needed, but the sales associate went to the back and found me one, no charge, from when they changed their display.

I bought this new Bemis fawn beige toilet seat to replace an old Bemis installed about 20 years ago along with several others before that. I was a little worried about the color matching because the toilet is an American Standard from the 1960’s and the color has since been discontinued. To my surprise, the fawn beige color matches perfectly with the porcelain toilet, even better than the old seat. The toilet just recently went through an overhaul with a new flange and wax ring, along with the new seat, so I hope it lasts many more years. The new installation method was so simple; install the bolts on the toilet, untwist the hinges on the seat, place it down on the bolts, and twist the hinges to the locked position. I will definitely purchase another seat to keep as a backup.

I have a pink Gerber toilet from the 1990's, and wanted to match the pink color of the toilet to a new toilet seat. I had contacted Gerber who advised that their color was #21, known as "Bahama pink," which may be a discontinued color. I then contacted Bemis, and was assisted by a very informed customer service rep who checked her cross-reference list. She advised that Gerber's Bahama pink is a cross-reference for Bemis's Venetian pink. It took about 9 days to come into my local store, from the day I ordered this seat from Home Depot, but so far it was worth the wait. The color was almost an exact match, and the seat was not difficult to install. The finish on the seat was perfect, and it appears to be of good quality, so I am hoping it won't develop a rocking problem like some seats do over time. The previous seat was not a "lift-off" type, but it held in place for years until I removed it today. With this seat, I placed the 2 screws in the holes of the toilet first. Two wing-nuts are provided to hold the screws in place. I used a screwdriver to slightly tighten the 2 screw-heads just a little bit more after I had the wing-nuts in place. I removed the 2 small top caps from the 2 connection pieces (that are attached to the toilet seat), and then placed the 2 connection pieces over the screw-heads and pressed them in place. Lastly I put the 2 small top caps back in place to cover the screw heads. No directions were provided in the box. The lid to the seat stays up nicely, even after I added a seat cover to it. This seat is guaranteed for one year, and since the price was so reasonable at Home Depot, if I have to replace it after a year, I won't be too concerned.

Good color match to an old Gray Eljer toilet. Sturdy. Would give 5 stars except had trouble installing. This does not install like other seats. Easy to install but had to google directions. Directions Should be included with product.
