I have this 29Kw B+D Electric Water Heater installed (outside) near the electric panel box for a few weeks so far so good, it works perfectly to provide endless hot water for my 3 bathroom showers and 3 sink faucets. This water heater is very compact, sturdy, easy to install, very efficient in operation and simple to maintain. Note that it requires 3 x 40 Amp double-pole breakers (do not confuse it with 20 Amp double-pole breakers) connecting 3 x 8/2 AWG wires; Otherwise, the circuit breakers may be automatically cut off due to overload current. In particular, I still keep the old gas water heater tank located inside the closet to use whenever I need to switch, replace, maintain or repair water heaters. For this purpose, I have installed the 3/4" 3-Way Stainless Steel Ball Valve to the main hot water line on top of the water heater tank. My family has been extremely satisfied since using this machine, so I would like to recommend this product to everyone I know and not yet know as a sincere thank to Black+Deck company distributed by Home Depot who delivered timely with reasonable price.

In short, I highly recommend for advanced DIY folks; due to high voltage hazards. The long, purchased to replace 5-yr old rusted tank. Self installed married unit to shark bight fittings and CPVC. Total project cost was around $750

The heater has been in operation for 5 weeks and it works fine. The incoming water temperature seems give a slight lag at the bathtub spigots. We learned to switch it to shower which reduces the volume of the water and the heater catches right up. We love the ability to run multiple showers in a row due to our current living arrangements with 3 extra family members.I installed it my self with help from an electrician for technical assistance.

Delivered to store on time. Easy installation. No indication it has power unless there is water flow then set temp numbers light up. Could not turn on/off or adjust temp settings because the buttons on the cover would not depress enough to touch the buttons on the control board. Put 2 layers of duct tape inside the cover over the buttons to act as a spacer. Works fine now. (McGiver) Took 3 calls to cust. support before talking to someone that could answer my questions. Also, need to have high flow thru unit for it to come on. Price was right. Just need to figure it out and it works fine. Been in service for 5 weeks now. Have not compared for savings yet.

The water heater arrived in good condition. it is very lightweight, and I was very surprised at how little space it took up, and how little it weighed. The installation is somewhat simple. I have it connected in tandem with the existing water heater that I was utilizing. Rather than the water heater actively heating, the water heater simply acts as a holding tank to warm up groundwater so the on-demand water heater is able to operate more efficiently. I was very surprised at the power requirements! It is 26 kilowatt hour, but that equates to having 6:40 amp circuits dedicated to its use! So power consumption and cost might be an issue. You may need to install a new electrical box if you are using this. I have some unused 220 line, so I was simply able to disconnect them in my home, but I recognize that this will not be the case for many users. It requires 8 gauge wire as well, so I had to fish cable through the walls. We ended up having a certified electrician run and wire this heater. I had never used a tank-less water heater before, so I was not sure what to expect. In a water heater situation, in order to get warm you mix hot with cold water. because the flow rates of a tank-less water heater is lower you do not want to do that. Instead you set it to the hottest temperature that you can stand. The temperature maxes out at 122 degrees Fahrenheit. in my home we have three showers, and two of them are often used at the same time. This was a contributing factor to me deciding to get a tank-less heater in the first place. unfortunately it did not occur to me that the flow rate would be lower, so I did need to buy low-flow shower heads. I feel good about it, because my kids were taking 20 minute showers, and now I can have all three showers operating at the same time with low-flow shower heads and everyone gets warm water and good pleasure pressure. I love it.

I bought my home as a fixer upper almost two years ago. I have been completing projects since purchase. The existing water heater is about 10 years old. The water temperature varies and appears the thermostat controls are going out at the very minimum. I have spoken with a licensed plumber that has done other work in my home and with my usage requirements he recommended this tankless water heater. Now to be fair upon rating this it is only based on my plumber's point of view at this point. The garage remodel is scheduled in about 6 weeks. Hopefully my existing water heater will hang in there until that time. The plumber will mount the new tank on the wall using less than 20% (If that much) of the space taken up by the existing water heater. The new system will take its own direct electrical supply source from the electrical box just like the existing water heater. My plumber is also a licensed electrician and advised in my case a new updated electrical line from the box will need to be installed. This is due to the old box. So keep in mind that there could be extra costs for installation depending upon age/amperage of your existing electrical box. I can't believe how small and compact the tankless water heater is. This will add so much walkable space/clearance entering garage from interior door. Also, it should really help on my electric bill. Very excited to see this completed and installed.

11 kW Self-Modulating 2.35 GPM Electric Tankless Water Heater, Point of Use hot water heater electric This Black and Decker tankless water heater appliance is obviously well designed and made to fit in a small space (see photo attached). The only issues I had were that the wiring instructions in the owner’s manual didn’t look anything like the connection points inside the appliance (see second close-up photo). However, the actual markings and wire colors inside the appliance made it clear how to proceed for the 220 volt hook up. The other issue was that the water supply and output need to come in from below the appliance, but what I had to start with was the water supply and output were above where I wanted to mount the heater. Note also that the unit must be mounted top side up.

              B&D 18KW tankless water heater.
This size unit is ideal for my domestic and electrical situation. You have to work around some of the manufacturers suggested installation instructions to comply with electrical code in my area. The suggested use of flex hoses allows for ease of access when descaling, however, service valves are a better option, in my opinion.
