You can google how to age them using different methods. I tried priming and spray painting one to grow flowers in and it only lasted one summer before the paint started to chip and peel. If you're using it to grow veggies I wouldn't paint the inside. They're great for raised planter beds. I elevated one on an old table saw stand and the rest on wooden stands my husband built.
