Answer This Question

A:  Yes these peonies can thrive in growing zones 3-9 in the ground. We do not recommend trying to overwinter them outside in pots as the pot soil can freeze. The planters can be put in a non freezing, dry location until Spring. We recommend you pull the plants out of the pot and store them in news paper in a non freezing and dry location.

A:  Yes. That is what I'm doing.

A:  Many bulbs and tubers do great in containers, provided soil is well draining and some special care is attached. Growing peonies in containers is a great way for small space gardeners to enjoy the plants or for anyone to have a big vigorous colorful bush on their patio. Choose a container that is at least 1 ½ feet deep and as wide or wider (if it’s already in one, you may need to transfer it to a larger pot). Peonies are large bushes that may grow 4 feet tall or more with a similar spread and they need plenty of room to spread their feet. Make sure the container has plenty of drainage holes to prevent tuber rot. Container grown tubers are more sensitive to freezing than in ground tubers, so it might be a wise idea to move your container indoors for winter to a cool area. This will protect tubers from freezing rain that will damage them. Other than that, growing peonies in containers is very straightforward. Water when the top few inches is dry, fertilize in spring, and provide some structure for the bush as it grows since the heavy blooms tend to knock over the foliage.

              Answer This Question

A:  Our peony's are a mixture as stated in the description "bright yellow accents in a center of creamy white, a touch of yellow at the base of milky white, deep coral buds that open to coral-peach, strikingly beautiful apple blossom pink coloration and deep pink that grows lighter at the edges". In addition, these are bare root plants they take at least 3 years to get full tall luscious plants like the ones in the arrangement above.

                    rotten roots?
what arrived appear to be some half rotten/withered roots. My hands were too dirty at the time to grab the cell phone and take a picture. I planted them anyways. Nothing came out. Completely waste of money and my time.
