Questions & Answers

Will Boeshield used to protect metal patio chairs be transferred to the skin or clothing of people while seated?

Asked by: Pat25
I would not try using the T-9 on surfaces such as you noted for fear it WOULD get on clothing/peoples skin. This would be especially of concern on painted surfaces like patio items as the spray would not soak in as well.

Can Boeshield t-9 be used to remove rust inside an oil drain tube on an engine? Will it harm the engine if oil runs through a tube coated with it? The oil will run through the tube and return to the engine.
Asked by: john
I researched Boeshield and never remember seeing that it removes rust but it does prevent rust I would send an email to Boeshield to find out for sure.

Is Boeshield safe to use on table saw tops. I’ve heard that some lubricants can leave residues that leach into wood when sent across the saw and can hinder the process when applying finishes.
Asked by: Marty
Boeshield is made to leave a protective residue so it probably won’t be what you want to use on your table saw unless you wipe it down before you use it.

I'd like a better glide in my extension ladder. Comments I've come across on the web include advice not to use oil or grease. A fire department supervisor recommends a block of Chevron was from the baking department of a grocery store. I'm guessing this is paraffin but not sure. This seems to be the closest thing I came across at home depot. Would you recommend choosing this or something else for this application?
Asked by: BillB
I should think that this would work just fine for your extension ladder. I use it on the surface of my table saw and jointer. I spray it on, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe off any residue. It leaves a dry but really slick surface so that the wood that I'm working slides easily and smoothly. I also tried it on the locking rail for my table saw fence, but that didn't work so well. It is so slick that the fence would move when the work piece pressed against it. I used a little little lacquer thinner and cleaned it off of that surface.
